Storm Water Outlet on Acreage site | Options?

Hi all,

I have a storm water outlet located on my sloping block and hoping for some ideas to manage, as I strongly suspect this is my problem to deal with.

A retention pond is an option but not sure I will have the funds to have this after the build. A number of neighboring properties have ponds, so Im assuming this may be the best course of action.

Are there any other viable options to manage? Once the house is up, I would expect more run off from the roof ect so want to be able to manage this as cost effectively as possible, at least for a few years until I can save up to put in a pond.

Thanks,
D

Not sure why that would be the case. Wouldn’t the roof area be similar to the ground area below it that was there before the house was built. Moreover, I wonder why you wouldn’t be catching the rainwater that is running off your roof for use in the house and garden?
