Custom made cornices anyone?

Hey all,

I want to get a new built in wardrobe put into the main bedroom, and the previous one ripped out and dumped. Now I've had a quote from a few of these built in wardrobe places, and the quotes seem to range from $900 to $1450. The problem is that the $1450 quotes design is much better, includes chrome rods and a shoe shelf, as well as the main thing that I require - a cornice to blend in the built in wardrobe with the rest of the room. The other places dont seem to do cornices for some reason.

I was wondering if there was any place that do cornices? I was thinking that I could go with the $900 quote, and then probably pay an extra $100-$200 for the cornice to be made and installed, then I'd paint the ceiling and bedroom (all yet to be done) which would work out to be cheaper than the $1450 this other guy is quoting. Can anyone please advise as to where I can get a custom cornice made? It would be a 2.4m (L) X 60cm (W) X 20cm? (H) unpainted (raw) cornice.

EDIT: Im located in Sydney metropolitan area

Cheers!!

There is a plaster specialist at Condell Park (might be listed as Bankstown) They are on Ilma St corner of Edgar St. They do custom plaster cornices.
You should be able to find them in the Yellow Pages

I wish there was a double thumbs up + smiley face emoticon for you!
A mate went there, he needed a custom angle cornice with his cathedral ceilings.
I think by your meausrements you need a bulkhead built. Look in your local paper for a builder. This is an easy job but I highly doubt less than $200. I dont think tradies get out of bed for less than $500, and materials will cost over $100.
