The Hotondo Homes Wallan builder seems to have some nice reviews. Has anyone on this forum or anyone you know hired Hotondo Homes Wallan (Shop 1A / 45 High Street, Wallan VIC 3756) or Hotondo Homes South Morang (Level 1, 106 / 2 Murdoch Road, South Morang VIC 3752) to do their house build? Registered Building surveyors are different to private consultants. If building now I would choose a building consultant and ask them if they can recommend an RBS. Good advice. @Gaudi Exactly my experience with Metricon in Sydney. 6 site supervisors and finally one building manager supervising the build over an 85 week build, including legal action. Contract build time was 42 weeks. In the end the quality was reasonable, but I had to work hard for it (and pay extra rent e...

Registered Building surveyors are different to private consultants. When I built my house , the builder was still appointing them so I cannot help. I’ve appointed one since for pergola and another for a deck, but not for a full house build. I commend you for seeking to appoint a different RBS. If b...

I built in SE Melbourne Custom build started in late 2015 so the builder appointed the registered building surveyor, who acted for the builder [emoji849]. Maintenance was completed in 2018. I would prefer not to mention the builder’s name as I have had an OK outcome although the process was ridicul...

I’m building with Metricon and They recommend check point and group 4 Surveyors but I really don’t wanna go ahead with Metricons recommendations. Is there any good Building Surveyor can do the job? If you look at Carlisle and Henley's inclusions, you won't probably need to add much after this unless you want crazy upgrades. I requested Metricon a quote for their floorplan Hayman 29 with changes that are included in Carlisle/Henley and the price I got was 290k. Still the Metricon quote lacked ...

I personally found Carlisle's Langholm and Henley's Amalfi best suited to my needs. Thier inclusions are pretty good as well They both look real good, and single storey like we are looking for. Noticed that both above are in the $275,000 to $299,000 range - is there any reason why that is when ther...

Will being interstate (880km apart) be an issue during the 4/5 critical stages of the build when an IBI (independent building inspector) will go on-site and prepare reports for us, and if there is an issue and we need to interact with the builder to correct something? Don't go with metricon if you want customer service. I have a lot of friends who have built with them and they are the worst. Their admin is really bad.
