Plans are definitely unique. I like the levels around the kitchen, family and dining rooms. Having it open with the balustrade will give it a nice open plan feel. I don't know how you got the impression 1m is nothing much. Sounds like something a sales consultant would say. I would be going for the split design over the single level design as you will have to increase your house footprint to get the same sqm house for a single level. More excavation required....
