Posted here for more traffic... We have recently bought a block of land, approx 1500sqm (main site area, as it is actually a battleaxe block). Rough dimensions of main site is 20m x 73m, smaller ends ****** in a NE to SW direction. It is relatively flat, overall falling about 700mm across the entire...

We used Kitchen Wholesalers in 2007 and really enjoyed the process with this. Fixed price and the tradies were all fantastically coordinated. We went through the Chatswood office (I think they have 3-4 offices??) They are online. Hope that helps. Pet

Hi Dee Sorry, this is slightly off topic, but what software are you using to draw up your plans? We're currently doing some plans ourselves and your drawings look a lot better than our hand-drawn scribbles. Thanks in advance Pet

Our previos bathroom reno, we used polished tiles. Looked fabulous, very swish. I don't think it makes any difference, but I would say, it's not an ideal surface for toddlers when they are still unsteady on their feet. Mind you, they do grow out of that. Have you ever seen some of the bathrooms of t...

also, longer expanses of bench are more expensive as well. Eg. a continuous 4m length is often more expensive tha 2x2m lengths, due to the difficulties of the longer length (harder to get a piece that is very long, more difficult/fragile to transport, etc). If you do only need smaller lengths, somet...

Just wondering whether it is worth buying a pyrolytic oven. Does anyone have one? If so, what brand and would you do it again? Thanks Pet

Cost will also depend on the total length of the bench and the type of finish, so it's hard to compare with others unless you know how much stone they needed. Two years ago, we had nearly 7m of stone bench laid with the 40mm pencil edge (Essa Stone). It cost us $2500 installed. This was benchtops on...

Get a quote to see how much it would be to build in the window and move it (maybe make it a tall narrow translucent window over bath - hard to say without seeing pics of the bathroom). We did a reno of a bathroom recently. Everything stayed where it was, but we completely stripped outt t he 40 year ...

I've got it down to 2 brands for a wall oven - Bosch, Miele and St George. Would love to hear from anyone who has one of these and what you think of it. Also, do pyrolytic ovens really work like all the sales blurb says, are they worth the extra dosh?? Bosch : HBA541550A http://www.boschappliances.c...

In our area, it's an older suburb and we have overhead powerlines through the streets. There used to be a property (a community hall) on the land a while ago and apparently they had the electricity brought in to the building via overhead powerlines (so the neighbours have told us). We are assuming t...

Thanks Borg. Yes, we will need to have a trench dug from the street to the main block. This might sound dumb, but what's a pit? Do you mean from where the street access point is?

Very excited :z: , we have purchased a block and are now trying to firm up a budget. We want to account for all the immovable preparation costs before we get to the building costs. It's a battleaxe block with a 68m 'handle' which will ultimately be our very long driveway. As far as we are aware, we ...
