Brissierenovators, it says they did a scratch test for hard floors but then did not list the results. I've just took a look at the website, and I'm guessing the reason why there was no results for the scratch test is that "All models scored 100% in the scratch test." Looking at the breakdown of sco...

After reading all the replies, either we were extremely lucky or we got a great deal. We have a loan with ANZ with 0.70% off standard variable, with 100% offset and no package fees or monthly fees. We've had our establishment fee refunded. The only fee I can recall ever paying is the progressive dr...

DNA what shade of green are your walls in your lounge? It looks very nice :) The colour is Wattyl Romaine but if you're after a slightly stronger colour, there's Wattyl Alphalpha (which we originally selected). The colour scheme is fairly close to what we have. Our cupboard doors are Dulux White on white in full gloss, with Ice Snow CS bench tops. Splash back is glass with green tinge. The walls are half strength Dulux Whisper White and there's a feature wall in Wattyl Romaine. Here are some older photos p...

I don't have any experience with induction cookers, but we have a Smeg pyrolitic oven. The self cleaning function has only been used once, but whilst the main oven cavity is left clean, the glass in the door was left with a sooty layer which has taken a fair bit of scrubbing to get out. We asked the...

We also have undertile heating for the bathrooms and tiled living area/kitchen. Unfortunately for me, I'm not allowed to turn on the bathroom heating on a normal basis :(. It's been deemed by "the electricity nazi" a waste of money since the only time spent in there in the morning is the 5 minutes b...

If you're willing to spend the bit extra to have it done, then I don't see any issues with it. They're nice finishing touches and if it's not too much extra then why not. For our kitchen, it was not a big deal as we have minimal overhead cupboards and the cupboards are white anyway. As far as I know...

Let's just hope the microwave stays that way when it's in use. Haven't tested it yet but hopefully it does not move around with the opening and closing of the door. If it moves around then its not installed correctly. We have one and had one in the last house and had no movement from either. :D I h...

OK it should be a very nice carpet. Suggest a Dyson canister model with HEPA for you. (Uprights with revolving brushes are not recommended for loop pile carpets, although they are more effective). Not sure of latest models, but look around. After you've worked out which one, shop around and you sho...
Does this mean it's not recommended to get the Dyson with the motorhead for loop pile carpets? Or even the turbine head?
