My friend have this setup when I went to his house. He explained to me. Hardwired alarm with motion sensor inside, has battery backup so even if power is cut off, still works. He paid extra for the alarm system to be monitored as well, so once it is triggered, phone call will go to him telling him h...

Just my personal preference but I wouldn't like to put my bed under a window, from the looks of it, your masterbed room, the bed will have to be under the under and facing the door opening. Just something to think about on where to put the bedroom furniture especially beds.

I saw double sinks in the ensuite. I read somewhere this person will not have double sinks if he was to build again. Reason is rarely both person will be in bathroom using both sinks at the same time. The space taken by 2nd sink is better use to have more bench space. Just a thought.

Maybe you can ask how many piece of stone are required overall ? The 40mm might tip over to the next piece hence almost the price of one piece of stone.

Just wondering, if your husband is an electrician, can he organise the electrical part of the house? Maybe certain builders allow and certain builders won't allow. One electrician I spoke to build his own house and his builder allowed him to do. But of course this is not in Adelaide.

Well, for me, my entire house, I went with white daylight. The first thing that my project manager says during handover is , the daylight colour choice you picked is good. Makes the house looks modern unlike the usual warm white. So my point is, it depends on what you like the colour to be. I agree...

I think wired is best too because then you don't have to worry about changing batteries etc. I do agree that get a professional security company to have a look at the placement of the detectors. I initially suggested a few locations which I think is suitable but the professional changed it and expla...

I am right handed and I am thinking of which hand do i usually use to turn on the tap and it is my right hand. So probably i will put it on 1o'clock so that my right hand doesn't need to reach to 11o'clock to turn on the tap. Maybe you can have a think and see which works?

For me, I would have a standard door and a moveable sidelight. So that if i ever need a bigger entrance for large items, i can unlock the sidelight to make the entrance wider. Day to day use, the sidelight will be locked/fixed into position.
