Hey Simeon Based on those prices, is building double brick now cheaper than using frames or at least close to the same price?

Building A New House

If they can't provide an insurance certifvate for the work, find another builder. Could be many reasons for having multiple registered entities, worst case their phoenix construction companies that'll be shut down at the first sign of trouble. Google that term, been a lot of media reports about it. ...

Good luck with the build, hopefully the weather improves. I'm not far away, drove past today and saw the demo guys in full swing. Look forward to seeing it progress.

Hi Hondo We haven't started our build yet, been away for work. We have given out tenants notice though (end of year) so hoping for a build start sometime in the new year. My little one starts kindy next year so once we get settled into a rental nearby we'll get going with it. Charleston is still our...

My niece just built with Masterton in western Sydney. Quality was ok for the price. A few issues along the way but nothing major. They built a single storey, i think the Cello design with slight variations. Overall their happy, but it was a slow build.

Good advice! Having said that, being the owner of investment apartments that haven't had these type of issues there are some good builders out there. I personally wouldn't buy into a development over 3 levels either, but in Sydney that type of complex is a rarity I guess.

My brother in Newcastle got away with $1250 sqm for a single storey volume builder home. Probably say it's a low-med level of finishes. Sydney build coming up for myself in the near-ish future. Hoping to keep it under $2000 sqm for a customised build.

No arguments from me. Negative feedback where factual is 100% fine and should be encouraged.

5.3.4 is written poorly. Should be extended to note in relation to false or misleading claims. Absolutely nothing wrong with disseminating negative feedback if the statements are factual. ai There's plenty of information on here, with not so positive comments, but when it's backed up with photograph...

Yes agree, 2k won't get you absolute luxury, but a decent level of finish. Getting a builder who'll also work with outside products is a good way of upping the specs without significantly increasing the costs. By that I mean organizing your own flooring etc and having the builder install.
