This one I would pay,as if you don't you'll end up with an undersized air con. I would have pushed back on the cornice variation though as they had already agreed to a price to extend the alfresco.

Personal choices. You're going to come across a lot of these during the building process.

No one except you can put a price on the entertainment value. Adding value to your house? Not the same amount as you spend on the pool.

We moved into our new build in December, had solar by January. We only had single phase into the house. My biggest regret was not running 3-phase to the house to get more solar. If you have 3-phase and have the practical roof space, get much bigger inverter and as many panels as you can install. Doe...

The floating vanities actually are plumbed into the wall, this is correct. Not sure about the other one without photos.

All those questions are hard to answer as each builder will have different policies on those matters. It should be a conversation you have with the builder. Some builders wont let you on site unless you book appointments with the SS. Others (Like mine) will let you talk with every tradesman that wor...

Upgrade to off-white mortar colour? That really shouldn't cost anything one wouldn't think

Each area is run by a different franchise, who have different standard inclusions and different prices. You'd need to talk to the local area and the salesman should be able to give you a rough price for an off the shelf plan without going to full tender.

So the "+" is an extra unknown amount that will be added to the bill, in the form of GST. And the "including" means that they won't charge me anything on the bill for travel, gas money etc. Perhaps one of the other Geotech engineers I contacted will have a better price and a sin...
It's not really an unknown, GST is a fixed rate set by the government. Most companies will quote without GST added, but...

$880 now? The $80 jump, is that the GST and travel? An hourly rate? $800 an hour? $800 + $80 GST (10%) = $880. Includes travel in that price.
$800 + $80 GST (10%) = $880. Includes travel in that price.

My build had a 900mm under bench, it's fine. If I was using 2 x 600mm I'd have them stacked on the left side with the microwave if you can make room, it's much easier to access them without bending down all the time and getting a face full of hot air.

My builder asked before we built if we wanted them to put the leftover bricks on a pallet and put the pallet in the back corner. We of course agreed, and so far built the mailbox with it

This all should be in your contract. If it isn't then it's not a requirement of the builder

You've really given us no information whatsoever. P can mean a lot of different things. No one can know if $36000 is too much money, what are you basing your assumption that $36k is too much on?

If theyre sending someone out to fix the problem and give you what was in the contract, I don't see what the problem is?

Thank you for your feedback, not what I was hoping to hear, but very useful. :) Google "Borrowing Capacity Calculator" put your details in there and see what it comes up with as how much you can borrow. Your deposit wont matter if you can't service the loan.

Get more than one quote and compare, thats the only way you can tell if the price is fair. 1m slope over the building can cost significant money

I didn't do what you said, but my Fencing quote was $2k more than the actual cost. Once my final payment was made I had $2k in available funds on my mortgage.

Congratulations! Glad you've made the next step. I think the master bedroom is a good size, that's the same size as ours and we fit a king bed plus plenty of room around. Not sure Id ever want it any bigger, but that's just me.
