Mine looks just like that, and and it has never struck me as looking unusual (and i usually have quiet a good eye for that sort of thing). When you look at the whole timber staircase it works from an aesthetic POV, My wife is an architect and has also never noticed it as being unusual https://forum....
Thanks for your advice

Wrong! The stringer for the staircase would be 30-40mm in thickness for strength whereas the skirting is only 18mm. Nothing they can do about it although the installer could have run the stringer through higher and made it look like the skirting runs into it. Stewie Thanks for the advice. I am a bi...
Thanks for the advice. I am a bit confused about the stringer being run higher?

If it's a sheet of gyprock then they could have put casing beads on the side so there is a neat clean edge. Thanks. On the other side is timber, they haven’t put the strip of wood on the left side yet. I just like a straight finish.

Hi all, this doesn’t look right to me. Shouldn’t the staircase be flush with the architrave. Just looks odd with one “sticking” out. Thanks for any advice. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200604/5f6d8210b78300def2cc5caa5e71a86f.jpg

There is a small gap where the tile doesn’t meet. I think they just used a piece of wood to cover it up.

Does this look normal to you guys? It looks like this is just laziness and covering up a gap. I know when that strip of wood is painted it will blend in. But it just looks cheap https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200604/4adffc134c20d580a0a8a05bdfcf2ac7.jpg

Hi All, Does anyone know why they have finished the staircase with a strip of wood on each side. Is it to cover the join from the gyprock and the staircase? Is there another way to have a smooth straight line and without that strip of wood? Thanks https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200604/77a9597fe8...

If the frame was created properly that piece of wood won’t be required to cover the tracks. Is that correct

Thanks. It does cover the tracks. But I just thought the door should go inside the architrave if that makes sense.

Hi All, Why is there a piece of wood attached to the cavity sliding door? I thought the door was suppose to go inside the architrave jamb? Doesn’t look right! Thanks https://forum.homeone.com.au/u/1_1590407075.png

Hi All, Can you advise if this insulation circled in the picture should be covered. The insulation on the other side is gyprocked and is my downstairs/home theatre room. The picture shown is my subfloor. Thanks https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200422/79849b6fb8446bf7b7927b0db1196f2a.jpg
