It can be done if your tiles are dead flat - get 2 meter straight edge and place that on top of your existing tiles - if there any bounce on the straight edge then you will need some prep done.

The top veneer is the actual timber on the boards - - I would not personally go with 1.5mm veneer board due to it being to thin. 4mm to 6mm veneer boards are seen in most reputable high end engineered boards.
