Hi all, We are upgrading our to double glazed windows with Rawson Homes. Does anyone have idea what sort of glass are they using? Lightbridge? Performance glass? Toned glass? Thanks in advance! Ours were 4-10-4 (4mm glass, 10mm gap) however that’s a few years ago, although I doubt the standard will...

More updates - the builder stuffed up and installed the win21 door and it was too late to change. The toughened glass wasn’t able to be cut - could have got another bit of glass installed but went with a new door from Bunnings and installed the dog door in the bottom. The amount of light into the la...

I’d say the mount will go eventually as part of the earthworks. But enjoy picking up random bits of wood, bricks, rocks, packets, cables, cutoffs and all sorts for a while!

All fine in the end. The solar is single phase but at least in ACT they average out the import On 3 phases v domestic use/export of solar on 1. So over winter middays and summer afternoons we run the RVAC on a timer using the solar. The things that actually made a big difference to heating were the ...

I dredged up the old tender and variations and actually a lot of the things weren't very expensive at all. Of course they start to add up after a while, but once we had the bare bones of the house sorted exactly how we liked we didn't need to get anything much as extras at colours selection time bec...

Thanks for that. Was it very costly to customize the windows? From memory it wasn’t hugely expensive. Windows and extra beams above the window cost a bit, but then you don’t need bricks etc for that space. So as a net expense it was fairly minimal. We also got a few rooms extended out 1m bigger whi...

Hey guys, I'm also building a Windermere here, the 32 option 2 with a custom detached granny flat at the back. Lovely house! Hi, what are the windows at the family area like? They are smaller than the Windermere 35. We’re tossing up between the 32 and 35 sq. You ought to be able to customise the wi...

My intel is nearing 1-2 years old now (process started November 2016 and we still haven’t got the house finished) so it could have changed. That was also the Canberra office so it’s possible elsewhere have other policies too.

You will probably be able to specify at the colours appointment so go with an idea of what you want. If they can't source, you can have them omit whatever they're including as standard and you get a bit of a (small) discount for that and you can just install your own later. Specify what you're plann...

As I understood it, the caesarstone comes in 20mm sheets so they mitre the edges to make it ‘thicker’. We priced different colours and the additional expense beyond the standard options was just amazing, literally thousands per sheet. Ultimately we settled for one of the standard selection which loo...

I got the dreaded call yesterday that our site supervisor is no longer with the company (sounded ominous). Might have explained why I hadn’t had callbacks the past few weeks but there’s been plenty of work happening so we hadn’t been too worried. The new (temporary) chap however impressed me with qu...

As an update, we swapped the 'win21' door for Corinthian's 'Backdoor No.6' which is stained wood on the bottom and glass on the top. I hope that this will be easier to cut a dog door into when the time comes.

Hi guys, im building the windermere 32 - just wondering if anyone else here as built it and what structural changes they made? Also, has anyone here saved money by piggy backing power points directly opposite to internal walls? I was thinking about putting some the included power point on walls tha...

Did you have carpet for the upstairs area? What are Rawson's standard carpets like, are they any good? Thanks Steeden We are all carpet upstairs (aside from the bathrooms). I’m not totally sure on the carpet grade actually, but it all seemed pretty reasonable. (At that point I remember being totall...

Hi philbert83 , Did you get the birhtday promotional package? Also, did you end up upgrading the stairs? Their standard staircase looks pretty crap. Just interested to know what you upgraded it to and how much that cost? Thanks We didn’t get that particular promo, but one that was from when we went...

Our Windermere 35 with Vogue facade now has most of its roof and cladding now (opted for the lines weatherboards rather than stria) https://forum.homeone.com.au/u/77132_1528783655.jpeg So far the build is going fine, but it is frustratingly slow with whole weeks (and months) going by without any pro...

Hello Team Windermere I've seen more than a few finished or finishing builds in my travels around Canberra lately. Narrabundah has a majestic facade, Denman has a vogue facade just about backing onto a trend facade. Yet to see a classic. Always interesting to see how they have been customised and so...

Sounds like you did alright! We have now been advised the stair manufacturer will do french polish or not provide stairs at all, so we are probably going to end up with something like the Googong display had. What did they rush you for the upgraded balustrade/handrails? We are off to colours this we...

How did you go with this? I was told at tender that the provisional allowance is just a guess and if it is more you have to pay the extra, if it is less you pay the lower rate.
