Definately get insurance sorted out pronto. Because once that occupany certificate is issued the liability of the house is on you. So if it goes up in smoke and you got no insurance well the bank not going to be happy. Bank will want to see the insurance before they release the final $$$. Better to ...

Best to ask the builder. They soon give you a response of what they will and won't do on a House and Land Package.

Have a solicitor or conveyancer to look over the land contract. If you have concerns. Have a read if there any sunset clauses, what are the covenants for the estate, does the block have any easements or restrictions etc. I have purchased both of my blocks of land first then done the build contract s...

I think the builder offering you half your deposit back is reasonable. The builder is entitled to recover any costs they have spent to date on your build out of the deposit. Even though you didn't sign any documentation the fact that you committed and paid a deposit is reflects IMHO that you agreed ...

I've tried to read through your post and understand it. Feel free to correct my assumptions if I have gottent them wrong. So to date you have paid $1500 to the builder? You don't own the land outright because its not titled yet but paid a deposit on it and will pay the balance 30 days after titles ...

Okay. Long time between posting been busy with work and getting my house build up and running. Have chosen a builder. Will post more information once its all finalised. Hi all, I'm trying to get estimates for a simonds bolton plan. Major upgrades are the attain package, raised ceiling option and butlers pantry which adds up to quite a lot. They got a 3k floor option which is essentially the base cat 1 floor tiles/timber laminate and cat 1 carpets... now anyone hav...
Ask them who there supplier is and what in the range so you can go and have a look at the quality yourself.

Sorry couldn't reply earlier. Had a breakdown with DFH over private inspector fees. With Boutique I was looking at Providence. How did you go with them. I'm looking to get a quote from McMaster too, now that DFH are out of the list as they don't allow private inspectors without me paying $2k. Also,...

Yes, Boutique homes are great. I specially liked their upfront pricing and very quick turnaround by the sales. James Belsar has also been very good. We didn't get along well, maybe because as a newbie I have been changing my plans ever so often, but he has been good. That who I spoke with yesterday...

Still mulling over BH plan choice and the quote. McMaster still in the mix however, the plan might not work unless we can make some modifications. This is the plan that works I think from DFH - waiting for quote to see if its a starter. Feel free to point out anything. https://forum.homeone.com.au/u...

It's interesting that even people here seem to be excusing their behaviour. Being busy, doesn't equate to completley ignoring multiple attempts of contacts through multiple avenues.
