Hi Everyone, I am currently doing an owner build and stuck on what I should be doing under the decking of our alfresco. Should I be laying Scyon sheeting, battens and waterproofing or leaving just timber and joists? The area directly underneath is the entrance to our garage (2x Double Doors), nothin...

Well your project is so challenging and it is nice to see that the engineers are happy and concrete is poured. What is the next step? framing? Could you tell (or pm) me the engineer firm that you used for the structural and hydraulic reports? Thanks in advance, cheers civarow Next step will be the ...

FINALLY have had some works being carried out. The internal drainage was completed and soon after we have had the concreting done. There is some serious steel in our slab for the retainer, but the engineer is happy - which makes me sleep well at night! https://thegroundup2017.files.wordpress.com/201...

We have finally got piers in the ground but literally had no progress since then. This weather has been playing havoc on our block, raining almost everyday for the past 2 weeks. Will start posting once we actually achieve something! ha!

That's an epic cut! Why so deep? It is quite daunting! The block we are building on has quite a slope on it, cutting into the block like this allows room for our under house garage and storage areas. Might as well make use of the area! Only get one chance to cut it 8)

Nice story (the approval part). Keep us updated. It seems a bit strange asking for all the bad bits in detail but I think that's where OB's will learn the ropes. We don't have the years of building experience usually. The approvals section was kept very short in contrast to what we actually had to ...
