Unless its horrible then I would just try to live with it. I have renovated my entire house and there's a couple odd things that do bother me but I have to try and live with them otherwise they will drive me up the wall. At the floor shop, they advised a more expensive underlay wouldn't make a tangi...

Your floors look lovely. I just had laminate flooring put in also, it was a higher end product (Kronoswiss Aquastop 12mm). I wanted the warmth of a wood look floor but could not fit real hardwood in my budget. Overall I am very happy with it but there is the odd feeling of movement in certain areas ...

Cornices in kitchen?

We're looking to renovate our kitchen. The ceilings throughout are standard height and there's cornices throughout. We will be knocking down the whole kitchen including the built in pantry. Is it common to leave the cornices and have a small gap on top of all the wall cabinets and the pantry? Or sho...

Congrats on the milestone! Did summit do the gate and your paving? I just had my first PCI meeting today with Summit also. Few little things to fix up but nothing major. Thanks fivespice. Hey summitluvin, I'm also building with Summit and wondering if you've had or seen this: In one of the non-master bedrooms linen cupboard there is a little moisture detecting device (forgot the actual name), like a small device that's supposed to detect water and looks kind of like a sensor alarm. ...

Hi all, just an update if anyone cares. I am in lock up stage and everything is progressing well, currently waiting for flooring which hopefully won't take much longer. After that there should only be some minor things to do. The inspector has been out at plate height and roof stage with only some m...

Hi all, I have almost completed my build in Perth and still require a driveway, paths and alfresco area floor coverage. I honestly don't like how plain concrete looks at all but it is the cheapest option so far. I love exposed aggregate but it is outside of my price range. Theres are rough quotes I ...

I've signed the PPA and paid the deposit. Looking now to get a few rough ideas of how much carpets, tiling, paving/concreting will cost over the coming weeks. Also looking at engaging an inspector. Have been looking at Cap-It-All building inspections and ABBC Building Inspectors (Andrew Booth). We ...

I will suggest get a quote from both builders and also outside, we went with exposed aggregate everywhere and ki...
