There are different types of termite treatment - what type is the quote for? Some builders do three coat paint as standard, some do two. Quite often builder s quote the items that are required from all builders by law as 'inclusions'( e.g. 6.5 year warranty). No mention of type of treatment just $5...
No mention of type of treatment just $500. Yes some do 2 and some do 3 coat paints. But I was unsure what exactly is me...

Thank you very much Joynz for your replies. Yes we going to meet builder few times still before we reach pricing and contract. I also checked for termite treatment and was advised $500 for Part A and B. Perhaps it's worth getting it done with them.. Other couple of things I wanted to know from exper...

Thanks oneJohn.. We are still weighing which type of driveway to go for..yes I agree for some greyish colour too. With aggregate concrete driveway it may become very dull with time compared to stencil. I guess stencil one can be more easily coloured. But I could be wrong.

After being in nearly 4 years, our biggest lesson/regret whatever, is not making some (now) obvious changes to our build which would I suspect, have been much cheaper during the design & build process than they are going to be now. Changes such as adding balconies to a couple of the upstairs be...
I would say windows, balconies, walls etc. are all structural and hence has to be done during build phase. If you think...

Is it really worth it as the cost for glazed bricks is significant compared to normal bricks?? I came across this photo. http://australbricks.com.au/nsw/product/burlesque/...

Bricks are put in categories by the builder according to cost to purchase. Those costs are decided by a couple of factors including process and ingredients. Most builders go up to around category 8 or 10 and bricks can move categories over time. A brick that was category 1 when I built 7 years ago ...
Thank you Frye for your insight..sometimes everything seems not part of standard inclusions and costs creeping higher..

It depends where you live and what sort of a climate it is. In NSW as part of a DA you are required as part of the BASIX certificate to have a certain level of insulation in your walls and ceiling. R 2.0 to the walls and R 3.5 at least to the ceiling in your upper storey would be about the minimum ...

If it isn't in the contract . . then it was never agreed. If you want a particular thing its best to make sure it is mentioned with sufficient detail that it cannot be mistaken. Yes going to ask for more details tomorrow. Hopefully will be able to get more details included in the contract. It's onl...
