I did not go to the factories to watch my two cars being built either. And they are perfectly fine. Like your logic here. Yes if you trust the builder enough it's well and good. the problem is tradies and not the builders themselves. Tradies can be slack. Best of luck..

Waiting for my builder to fix things that were raised by my private inspection company for frame stage. Hopefully won't take too long. There were number of issues raised in the report so need to get it rectified.

My builder told me not many do concrete piers underneath of slab. Our builder and slab engineer has put at-least 20 concrete piers before doing slab which I believe is waffle slab. Property being built literally next to us are having significantly less concrete piers. How this can be possible as I w...

How is it lookin?? Any feedback? We liked Bristile tiles and we opted for Phoenix. https://bristileroofing.com.au/nsw/product/designer. Few things we need to do still is some colour selection for kitchen cupboards, island bench stone with waterfall and also flooring. Which colour is suitable for kit...

Couple of things I learned is: It's pretty important to get land that is as flat as possible. This will help reduce site costs. This also ensures you don't have to spend on retaining walls. It's good to keep measure tape with you Keep in mind that your build may not include driveway depending on con...

Usually rain and weather can add to delays. So best of luck.. However roads are pretty pathetic around that side..

I thought it would be good idea to share some photos of our build. There was lot of delay with land title due to few different reasons. So our land finally settled in November 2017. So it's going to be 4 bed, 2 bath. We have done number of upgrades and modifications ensuring we don't over spend. Few...

We go there on site every weekend. Currently going with frame stage. Hopefully it should complete soon. I guess in frame they only do framing and don't put insulation or anything else. Are windows and doors done in frame stage? More exciting times ahead..

Thanks, I will look into this as well further. I didn't receive any information regarding surveyor from builder. Have they just said you have to supply your own? If that is the case they usually have a lot of conditions to who you must choose from, and their capabilities and liabilities. http://www...

I am not sure what you mean here. Can you elaborate. I don't know anything about surveyor. Sure, you didn't get any documentation from your builder regarding the appointment of an independent building surveyor? You should have received a VBA fact sheet on appointment of a private building surveyor?...

Who is the 'independent' building surveyor your builder has forced you to use? Or is this your primary surveyor company for the build? I am not sure what you mean here. Can you elaborate. I don't know anything about surveyor.
