I think we've made the decision to have hybrid floors in our new build, but I'm after some recommendations on which manufacturer to use?

Currently in the process of building a double storey house, we have two young kids. Our builder has informed us that we can have tiles, vinyl or timber laminate floors, all for the same price. We are also considering hybrid for a small amount extra. What would you recommend?

Contract for a new build was signed in December 2020, and when start time was extended by 18 months we were so happy. Here we are at almost 18 months, and the build definitely won't be starting in time. This is completely out of our hands, both the fault of council and the builder causing endless de...

Building a new house, we have chosen our bricks as below, but are having trouble trying to work out the rest of the colours. Would love some suggestions for the roof, garage and particularly the render. See house plan: https://forum.homeone.com.au/u/69712_1608963653.png And bricks: https://forum.hom...

Currently own a three bedroom home, one living area, 360m2 block (built in 2018/19). We have been considering building a second story, which would turn the house into a four bedroom home, with a small study and a second living area. Have been quoted 170k. House as it currently stands is valued at 4...

So is official, the builder has gone into administration. As we only have a frame and a roof, is there anything we will need to secure? Do you also think it's still worth putting up a sign? Should we be insuring the place now? Very all over the place at the moment, not sure what to do.

That was very helpful information, thank you! Guess we have to hope they claim insolvency and don't keep playing around.

Neither of those. I'm in SA. They're called Evoque. Haven't said anything to us, it's just the signs we're getting.

Hi all, We are building in a new development of about 20 houses. Since our build started in October it has been going really slowly. Our frame and roof were up in November and since then nothing has changed. Every time we go to check out the build during the day, there are maybe one or two contracto...

So our backyard is going to be 19m by 3.5m. Small, right? I was wondering if you have any ideas as to how we can maximise this space? If you have any photos of what you have done with backyards of similar sizes it would be much appreciated! Thanks ::smile::

Ok so I got our variations back this afternoon and guess what was in the list...... "Provide 3 phase power, required due to loads" So looks like we might be in the same situation! I will be following up on Monday, will let you know how we go. Oh, there you go! How much extra were they try...

I would wait and see before they come back with, before offering to pay for anything extra. Is your airconditioning done as part of the build? If so, I think they have made some kind of mistake with planning the electrical and trying to recover costs. Yes, the air conditioning is included, so sound...

My husband and I spoke about this last night, and he thinks they are trying to get out of putting in extra circuits. The aircon should be on a seperate one, so you know what they have give you? As what other posters have said, if sound like they are trying to get out of it. Although do you know how...

There is no underlying issue other than you might draw a lot of power when both are in use. Your electrician may want to install extra circuits so that a single one isn't overloaded. Why they would be putting airconditioning not on its own circuit anyway is a bit of a mystery. You need to dig deepe...

Hi @jezzarose no advice really, but your question has made me think so wanted to follow for responses! We have selected reverse cycle airconditioning (single phase) and an induction cook top for our single storey home. Let me know if you have any issues!

Considering ours is a small house (three bedrooms and open plan), you wouldn't think we'd need a huge amount of power?

It is single phase power. I assume this will make a difference?
