Think ill just mow and get the height down and hopefully get a roller mower onto it to see if it can be firmed up.

According to ozbreed who culture the zoysia breeds, and their documented care approach is to water only when needed, fertilise sparingly, and mow infrequently. All of which suggest that the grass need not be dethatched. Specifically they mention for a low maintenance approach, leave the grass to 75...

For less than $20 you can get a pH test kit for soil from bunnings. It's good to check as pH can have massive effects on plants. Can you provide any thoughts on the height? Should it be cut lower?

I have no way to test PH. I followed the full recommended lawn guide from this site. I am feeling that it will green up really well this summer.

I will post some pics this arvo for you guys. I was actually looking for info regarding the height of my lawn. My old man thinks it's too spongy. I will post a pic and look forward to your responses. I am in Perth (Kingsley).

How long should this lawn be? I am at the 4th longest setting on my Victa, started at the highest and am working backwards (lower) after a lawn contractor told me my lawn was way to long. It is maybe around 2-3 inches. He thinks I should gradually work my way to the lowest setting on my victa rotary...

The yellow patches, go with watering. And come back with the heat. I have mowed it twice, and as luck would have it both times it was 40 degrees the next day, I think that has knocked it around. I may reduce watering a touch as it is growing really fast. Other than the issues above we have been real...

What does run in mean? Some more dead/yellow/dry patches have appeared not on the edges but in the middle of my lawn? Still no concern? The majority is still green. The grass just needs to grow out. Don't be concerned at this early stage with mowing. If you let it clump and spread it will colonize ...

That lawn is looking nice. There will always be some die back in turf a month after laying, but overall the turf has taken well. I wouldn't worry about the edges as the rest of the grass will spread and cover these areas. The rest of the turf is well and truly established so relax and let it run ou...

Hi Guys, Laywed 200 squares of Empire Zoysia around the end of december. Mostly it is looking great. My watering concession has just ended and I am now on the twice a week Perth standard. I did soil prep as fu's instructions. I have concerns about some browning of the lawn, same part looks dead, whi...

Hi Guys, I have ordered a 1,000 liter bag of piggy post. I am planning on laying new turf. I have killed and rotary hoed my front lawn, I am buying Zeolite, Bentonite, and Spongolite to be rotary hoe'd in with the piggy post. The front yard is roughly 150m2 will the 1000 liter bag be enough? I was p...
