Thanks hbt and Rodda. I actually ended up the the Yamaha 667. I bought it before reading any of your responses. I did a bid of research comparing the 3 amps and they we equally matched. But I got a very good deal from HN, so I ended with the Yamaha. Pioneer was my first choice as well, because of th...

Hi All, I'm currently deciding on the following receivers: Yamaha RX-V667 - 7.2 - 6 x hdmi in ONKYO TX-SR608 - 7.2 - 6 x hdmi in Pioneer VSX-920 - 7.1 - 4 x hdmi in Pioneer VSX-1020 - 7.1 - 6 x hdmi in All are 3D capable. At first I was leaning towards Pioneer VSX-920. But I saw the other amps and g...

Thanks for the replies everyone. It turns out that the tint is wrong. Even when I ordered the exact brand and color!! I had it re-mixed/re-tinted at Bunnings. I repainted the patch last night. Its a lot closer now but still not 100%. I guess I just need to leave it for 2-3 more days and hope that it...

I just had a small patch on the wall repainted. But the color of the new paint doesn't look the same as the rest of the wall. The wall is fairly new, approx 3months. But the repainted part doesnt match. Its already dry to touch. But its still a bit lighter than the rest. I ordered the exact same col...

I'm deciding on screen doors for the sliding doors as well. We have 7 panels... I have the option to go with: - Galvanized Steel Screen = $3200 or - Stainless Steel Screen = $4000 Both are clear view. And they look the same too. Just not sure if the extra 800 is worth it. And if $3200 is too expensi...

How do you prevent robbers from climbing up your fence? We recently got robbed because our house is beside a vacant lot. Can we put anything on the fence to stop robbers. We were thinking of putting spikes or blades but our friends told us that we might get into trouble is someone gets hurt. But tha...

Heres mine... How can a house get a 5 star energy rating when it uses $4 per day worth of gas to keep it at 18° (for only about 8 hours)? Exactly right!! Our house is 5.8 stars. We have northern living areas, cfl lights, etc... But our gas bill is $450 for 60days! And the heater is on for only 4hrs...

Looks like our $450 gas bill for 2 months is about right. It could also be that our current provider charges too much. I'm now on the hunt for a new energy provider. Any recommendations based on experience? We are in the western suburbs of Melbourne. Thanks everyone for sharing...

Hi Erin, Wow! $770 for both gas and elec? How much for gas only? How come things got more expensive with lesser usage of energy?!? Is it because of the peak period change of cost? BTW, i'm in the western suburbs of melbourne. Provider is Or1g1n (is it ok to name companies??)

We recently received our 2nd gas bill. For 60 days, the bill is $454.18. This time, we are only using the ducted heating for 4hrs a day (2hrs in the morning, 2hrs at night) House again is 35sq. We have gas cooktop and oven. And gas hot water (Rinnai Infinity 26). Also a gas log fireplace (open for 2...

How big is your house? How old is your heater and if it's newish what evergy rating does it have? But if you are running the heating for that many hours then yes The house is 35sq. Its a new house and a new heating unit from Brivis. So the amount sounds reasonable???

Thanks for the input Fu. So I "can" use bricks. Is 1 layer of brickwork enough so hold the soil from eroding? Also do I need to put in steel bars in for support? In terms of cost, which is more cost-effective, bricks or limestone? Thanks again.

Can we use bricks (same ones used in the house) as retaining wall. We're looking at approx 300mm to 400mm high. Do we need to put steel posts inside to support? Or the bricks and mortar would suffice? Thanks!

Hi Hammerhead. The cooktop is stainless steel but the burner itself is 2 parts... top is black-colored steel and lower part is light-weight almost like aluminum. I will try baking soda and vinegar. Do I mix both baking soda and vinegar and use it to clean? :th:  Thanks

Our new cooktop (Omega) burners gets dark and dirty really quick! The silver part of the burner now looks burnt! ::dizzy:: ::surprise:: It has this brownhish color stain that I can't remove. And we've only used it 3x. I tried several cleaning agents but no luck. Even one that smells very bad (smells...

Thanks BUILDERSEDGE. You seem to work on these things a lot. I'm doing this for 2 soap holders only. Your tools seem very expensive for 1 time use. :D I was wondering some not-so-expensive drill bit would do. And do I really need to drill on the tile itself instead of just the grout? I'll follow the...
