Hi Shellaw, I felt if kids accidentally run into the corner of the bench there is more of chance to get injured if it has no waterfall as it will have that pointy corner where as with waterfall you may get hurt but the edge is not as pointy as the one without waterfall. This is what it went through...
Thanks Desi, I see your point. My little one isn't quite tall enough for that yet.

Hi Steven__LA, We are going for waterfall. The reason is not for appearance/ambience. It is more for safety, we have three yr old and as you know with little ones they always do something what you least expect them to do. How much does it cost for 40 mm, I heard waterfall is about $1250 for 20 mm. ...
Sorry, how is the waterfall edge safer? I have a 2.5yo and so far has not been injured by our non-waterfall bench...

I can already guess the next question: how much did your velux skylight cost? Also you are correct that if there are no windows it has to vented to the outside not just the roof space

Someone asked about the HWS previously: I asked SS about the hot water system and he wasn't 100% but pretty sure it is a 50 degree system as you are not allowed to have hotter than that in the bathrooms and you would need some sort of control system if you wanted to get hotter water in your kitchen....

Quick question, what is the standard lightbulb that EB puts in the batten holder? What wattage and is it bayonet or Edison screw? Hi shellaw24, they are the standard size bulbs, bayonet style fixture. They use energy saving bulbs that look like this (please note - this is just an example, I didn't ...

Re: build time if you are in Sydney then I've noticed there seems to be a lack of tradies so they may have added on some time to account for that, ours up in the hunter has been a bit quicker than that... Which reminds me Shayne can you update your blog pretty please [emoji14]

Amanda, you don't really deal with the CSA much once build starts, you can get the SS to deal with them if you need or communicate via email sent to both of them. I think the CSA comes back in to play for handover but that's about it.

We didn't get a camera for our build until they moved inside and put one in the back corner of the house but then it was only there for like 2 weeks and then it was removed once the electricians came in and we never got any details about how to view from it remotely so basically a waste of time. I a...

Ketchuplslouise: The roof is surfmist, same as the garage door. Fascia and front door are basalt. Venniechada: Melamine Shelving was an upgrade, can't remember the cost but it was given as a total for the whole house anyway, will look when I get home.

Our cabinetry went in before the floor tiles but the WIP, fridge space and linen cupboard are tiled. The vanities are semi-floating in the bathrooms so the floor tiles go under those but the laundry cabinetry we got went in before the floor tiles.
