We have two turn-style doorbells - one on the door, one to the left under the sidelight (Edwardian home, traditional wooden panels and leadlights). The one on the door doesn't work and the one under the sidelight could do with a bit of improvement. Does anyone fix these? We are in Melbourne.

We are just finishing our outdoor works (carpentry maintenance, landscaping, fencing, painting) and the time has come to decide on a screen door. We are in an Edwardian and the door is looking spectacular with new leadlights, high gloss paint, etc - but after some agonising we have decided to instal...

Hi Michelle - yes a bit late, but thank you! I went with my gut (and what the 19 sample pots told me, haha!) - Wattyl Smooth Horizon walls, Dulux Natural White eaves, gable straps, windows, doorframe, and, Dulux Organic gutters and fascia. Dulux Organic high gloss front door - didn't want to introdu...

I haven't, sorry, but I've definitely had white paint paralysis before! Our challenge was finding a true neutral that would go with both slate, and baltic pine (original part of house, and extension which was already on the house when we bought it). What flooring have you chosen?

I think it depends on the colour of your floor and furnishings, and what kind of natural light you have. Can you post a pic or give a description?

I have! Gripped in paint choice psychosis. http://imageshack.com/a/img924/4337/h0lNkU.jpg South facing. Solid brick, obviously has to be painted as it has been previously. Driveway is now paved with secondhand brick pavers. Would like dark grey fascia, with gables picked out in a "white", ...

Hi all, We are shortly going to be repainting the exterior of our house. The details: 1. Edwardian, double brick, no decorative features or fretwork apart from a panelled door which is about to have a new leadlight put in. 2. South facing 3. Tall brick fence. 4. Terracotta tiled roof (original tiles...

I think the most important aspect is that the white you choose is totally neutral or leans cool, rather than having any antiquey warmth whatsoever. Personally I would probably go with Polar White - or if in Dulux colours, probably Vivid White. I know you say your house is very bright but I would be ...

crazyk - I'm sure you will be fine - especially since you have white shimmer benchtops, so there's really not any "warm" or "cool" reflecting on your splashback. We wanted a grey just slightly on the warmer spectrum as our benchtop is a slightly warm grey and there are yellow an...

Tranquil Retreat is a gorgeous grey but is too blue for our benchtops, Crazyk! triggywiggy - Grey Pebble is an awesome colour, it just looks very beige in the context of our kitchen now that the benchtops are in. No doubt that is to do with the angle of natural light in there, as well as our rough s...

Thanks for the reply :) I actually ended up changing to Silkwort and feel really good about the choice - even though Caesarstone Urban and Oyster look very similar from a distance, because Urban is coarser and more speckled than Oyster, it lends itself to a lighter, more beige splash than Oyster doe...

We have Vivid White shaker cabinetry with Indian slate floors, Natural White walls, stainless steel appliances and satin nickel handles. Benchtops are Caesarstone Oyster. I had requested Dulux Grey Pebble Starphire splashbacks but am now wondering whether Silkwort would be better? I don't want the s...

I can't comment on the specific units recommended but my understanding is that if there is "enough" extraction, the area of the rangehood does not necessarily have to cover the complete area of the stovetop. I discussed this issue at length with various people at the time of choosing my ra...

I can't comment on endurance or durability over time, but we've just had a 900mm 2-drawer ADP wall-hung vanity installed in our bathroom and it looks and feels terrific.

I should add - Grey Pebble looks "properly grey" against the Vivid White. Or at least, when I put an A4 (paper) swatch up against the splashback wall, it looks grey in the light of our kitchen. We tried Limed White too but that looked positively pink!!!

Hi all, Would appreciate some help if anyone is good with colours! Our kitchen benchtop choice yesterday abruptly changed from CS Urban to CS Oyster, due to non-availability of Urban. I'm very happy with Oyster and actually prefer it, but I had spent - no joke - 6 WEEKS vacillating about a Starphire...

Oh. I hope I don't get in that situation We were lucky in that Oyster was our first choice, but also we had multiple other (QQ and Essastone) options available to us - and in all honesty I probably would have been happy with any of the choices the kitchen guy had out when I went to the showroom thi...
