Gardens done so everything complete now! This will probably be it from me. I’ve enjoyed using this forum to see what everyone is up to and to get information. It’s been a big help. House is looking great. Tenants move in on the weekend and the gardens will (hopefully) be done by then. Boutique Homes have been fantastic. Realised they hadn’t rendered one small bit of wall and even though we had already done handover and I’d signed off on everything, they were happy to fix it. O...

Haven't posted in a while. A few weeks ago, my parents visited the site and took some pics. It's now at lock-up complete stage. It's estimated to be finished in mid-October. I want to organise landscaping so I can put it in the rental market asap. Any tips on how long that'll take and roughly how m...
Hi, how much did you roughly spent on your landscaping? $16,000 in the end. More than I wanted to.

House is finished now. Looks really good. Fences and gates are done, gardens are being done and tenants moving on Cup Weekend. Phew! By the way, gardening guy offered ongoing maintenance. Would you do this for renters? I mean, weed control and lawn mowing? I'm considering it as they won't have the m...

Update: I was aiming for 5-8 grand and I'm spending 16 grand. It was hard to find people to do a quote, letalone the whole place and I needed it done pretty quickly as I want to get renters in. It was the cheapest of the three quotes I got.

Hi guys. Thanks for the advice. Stanus, I'd love to do it myself but I live overseas and can't get to Oz at the moment. Other thing I was going to ask about was: has anyone here had to borrow extra to do the gardens? After paying for fences, insurance, inspections and a few other finishing things, I...

Hi all, Just finished building and grabbing the keys this week. Last thing I need to do is get the gardens read for renters. It's a 25 square single storey house on a 556 square metre block. My questions: how cheap could the gardens be done for? I don't mean DIY because I'm not in the country, but w...

It's finished. Hurrah! Gotta say I've been impressed with Boutique throughout this process. By the way, doesn't anyone know any landscape gardeners in Torquay? Wanna get gardens done but everyone just seems too busy to do it. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170929/dff9e29fa28b8945c1dd42c7f3b5cc68...

Good idea for a thread. I've been building from overseas so have left everything to the builder and I think I might have gotten lucky because I haven't really had to do much and the inspector's report was fine when they went. I would do it again and would try to be as hands off as possible, as it's ...

Hi Katehutch, I'm happy to answer any questions as well as I can. If you like you can PM me and I'll put you on to someone who helped me get the loan sorted. It wasn't easy and I think has gotten a bit tougher even since I did it, but it is still possible depending on your circumstances. I originall...

Thanks:) yeah I no but it's for a 16m frontage block. Mines a 14m frontage so you don't get the same feeling when you go see the one in mernda. Thanks I think it'll fit nicely on 14 metres. Ours is a 17 metre front and you can see in this pic how much space there is in the side, if that helps give ...

Hi Clarissa, I built in Torquay, Victoria. Happy for you to drive past and have a look, but won't be able to let you in as I'm not in Australia to do so. There's a display in Mernda for the larger version of Marseille I think. That's the one I visited.

Just had the final walkthrough and got someone to do an inspection for me. Good thing, as they were very thorough. They found 28 items that needed attending to. No idea how long that'll take to fix up but I'm hoping not too long. Does anyone else have experience with this? Most of the stuff seemed p...

UPDATE Final inspection has been scheduled for next Thursday. I've employed people to go through and do the check for me and once that's done and any changes are made, I presume handover comes along pretty quickly. Looking forward to seeing the last lot of photos. Will post here when I get them.

Hi all, My house is nearly done and I'm just thinking about the back fence. I want to get a nice high one for extra privacy. I'm thinking 2100 would be good or maybe 2400. Any thoughts on this? I'm also wondering if I need to pay for the thing or if the neighbours go halves. I remember having to pay...

Hi all, Apparently our house will be ready in 3-5 weeks. I want to rent it out asap so I've started looking for a landscape gardener. Wondering if anyone would like to share their experience here. What else will I need to do (that's maybe easy to overlook) so I'm ready for renters? Any ideas appreci...
