Thanks Bebbsy I just wasn't clear how much I will be liable for if I did cancel. As the total of $2200 is paid in 3 instalments. However, it has only been just over a week since my file was accepted so I am not sure how much has been done so far. In the building agreement I think there is a clause ...

Hi everyone I just wanted to ask if anyone was aware of cancellation costs involved in building a house. I am building in south Australia with Fairmont homes and the house hasn't gone into construction yet. I have done the selection process and all the building approvals have gone through council an...

Hi SuziQu. Congrats on getting this far. The approval process is slow but when they get going things progress quite well it seems. Good luck! I'm at a similar stage as you and mine took about 11 months from signing to foundation pour. I'm building with Statesman Homes

Thanks Lucinda. Our slab finally went down a couple of weeks ago and now all the timber and bricks have been delivered so I'm getting very excited and can't wait for it all to start taking shape. The last couple of days we've had a fair bit of rain and with the Easter break there's been no progress ...

Hi everyone. Can I just ask those of you who built with Statesman homes in Adelaide were they generally on time with the builds? I Hope to have my footings done in a few days time, they are finally doing the trenches and I'm just wondering how long it generally takes once the footings are down. I ha...

Yes Lucinda, very exciting! The porta loo was delivered a couple days ago so it can't be too long now but we're heading into a spell of very hot weather so I'm not expecting too much. The block next door will start at a similar time and have their loo already as well. The builders sign is up and I h...

After the third round of council approvals and amendments due to small discrepancies in measurements and other setbacks we finally have the go ahead and been 'released to construction.' What a funny term that is! Nevertheless I hope to see some seriou...

Just a thought, can the splash back be moved around so that the power point cutout is on right side of the cooktop. Above the cooktop is not an ideal place because it is too close to cooking area, Due to safety issues I highly doubt it would meet Australian standards. Depending if the glass could be...

Hi everyone. Things have been very slow the last couple of months, a hold up with the bank and DAC on transferring titles following my subdivision. Good news though, my water meter and sewer have been put in so I can only assume it won't be too long now. I received a phone call that all the necessar...

Vladmari, your garden will be full of beautiful trees I'm sure, and make sure you put up lots of photos for us when you plant. The solar system that you have sounds like a very reasonable price.

Well..helloooo..people's. Hope you're all well. My house is finally demolished and next week the surveyor will come to measure and peg, documents go in for subdivision, then it will be a matter of SA water coming to put in a new meter. Hi Vladmari..you are super organised that's for sure! Shame about your internet. Ive been quoted $1000 to have internet and phone line connected by the builder however I'm not too sure if that's a reasonable price or not. We are lucky in that our suburb is only just getting upgraged now to the NBN s...

Hahaha..Tomkat..you're funny.
