Been a long time since I posted here, my refrigerated aircon just got installed today. My SC was the one who recommended I get the aircon installed after handover actually, said it would save about $3K. This has proven to be true, originally I was quoted $15K+ for PD to do the add-on cooling for me,...

that quote is totally wrong, our cost of waterproofing 4 ensuites and a powder room (added shower), was around $2000, this was for the floors and tile skirting, I don't believe the walls really need to be waterproofed. Jasdan, you wouldn't happen to have had Cameron as your old SS would you? We used...

Thanks for the information regarding waterproofing, I have let my BC know that this is absolutely necessary and asked for a variation to be raised. Sounds like way too much to look after to maintain it ourselves, will probably run into some issues down the track due to negligence. To my mind, should...

TBL, seems to me that since PD has not built in Bendigo before that they have some inexperienced tradies out there, hope it improves.

Our SS has advised lockup will be completed late next week, bricking is almost done. We've booked in our Pre-Plaster stage inspection for next Friday, hopefully not too many issues!

There is a display home for Porter Davis which has the 2340mm height doors upstairs in a 2590mm high ceiling. Unfortunately, I can't remember where it was, might have been the Sandringham in Wantirna, or one of the Waldorfs in Cranbourne area. We were initially considering that heigh doors in our 25...

The flooring pack is only really good value if you stick with the basics they give you (Cat 1 tiles, Bolero laminate, Cat 2 carpets), if you're looking at upgrades of the tiles or laminate or hardwood floors, cheaper to do after handover.

PD have got a new design out, the Plaza. I gotta say, it doesn't look anywhere near as functional as the Waldorf and Marriott designs, seems to me there are a few spaces that won't be used often. I'm not a fan of the corners shaved off the bedrooms, and the Galley/Pantry placements don't feel right ...

Silk finish is still a Laminex laminate product, it has a smooth finish, but still has visible seams where is it stuck to the front of the cabinet. Vinyl wrap is 'baked' onto the cabinet door, has no visible seams on the front, presents kinda like a 2pac finish, but a more textured surface. From a d...

Filthy, what bricks did you choose? Looks like a Melbourne series, but a lighter one than one we're getting, Hawthorn. Bricks were delivered end of last week to our site and bricking will probably be starting soon.

I'm jumping ahead, but...filthyfil, I remember you talking about liquid limestone for your driveway, did you end up getting any quotes? I've been reading up a bit on it and it seems to be fairly expensive, though I'm not sure how much more it would be than exposed aggregate, which is the other optio...
