Hi, I didn't use the Walpamur fence paint for our fences but I did use the Walpamur UV external paint which I had tinted colorbond Monument, to do our fences. Bit more expensive than their pre-tinted fence paint but they didn't have Monument in that range, only a blue grey colour. It was easy to us...

Hi, The original thread of this topic is very old. I'm not sure what the issues were back in 2008 but this is our experience. After our (original) builder went into liquidation in October 2016, Dean Homes were the builder who stood up and helped us out, firstly be coming to see the house as it was, ...

Mine is also about the bench, it is actually the same model you have. It doesn't look odd at all.

An option would be pittosporum - probably the sunburst variety. They don't get too tall. However, without some maintenance (pruning at least once a year) they tend to be a bit straggly. JMO.

Have you used a visualiser? There is one on the Carlisle Homes site. Just pick one with a similar facade to yours and then change the colours to what you are thinking. Gives you a really good idea of how it will look. What colour garage and front door are you thinking?

I would make them re-brick it. You wanted brick - you got it but there are significant issues. You don't like render - don't agree to it! I don't really like render either. It looks good when first done but over time it needs maintenance, and staining etc can be an issue. The prospect of re-bricking...

Sorry can't help you there but it looks like a nice brick. Do you know what colours you will pick to go with it (windows, doors, gutter/fascia etc)? You could contact the supplier and ask for addresses of homes that have used this brick - they will generally give out a list.

Unfortunately your question can't really be answered. Every builder is different, their tradies are all different, it can depend on demand, suppliers etc (ie. when we were building brickies were in very high demand so bricks were delayed significantly. We actually found our own brickie.). Ask your b...

Are you building with a 'big' builder? Many of them use very young trades and I am not deliberately bad mouthing the younger guys, you can get it with the older ones too, but I tend to find the ones who haven't been in the job very long do tend to take shortcuts, whether deliberately or not, and oft...

Hi, we used Monument windows etc also - really happy with them. You can see pics showing them from inside and outside on my blog. Cheers.

I guess it depends if you want a darker looking house or a lighter looking house overall. Also, are you worried about the colour of the window frames from the inside of the house? Some people are. I tried to keep our colour scheme to three colours to keep it looking neat (I read that somewhere and i...

Unfortunately I think you'll find that any external blind is going to be a bit pricey as they have to be weatherproof etc. If you are in Melbourne look at A1 Blinds. I had several canvas awnings replaced a few years ago and they were reasonably priced and good service.

We were in almost exactly the same situation as you - 2m fall across the block. Our block is 17 metres wide. We couldn't build to boundary due to a building envelope (we had to have a minimum of 2 metres to each boundary). House ended up being around 12.8 metres wide at its widest (front). If you wa...

I think a lot of homes these days are 'long' - going from front to back, rather than long 'side to side'. Given the trend, it might be why all the pics you see are the floorboards going that way.

Our old 1970's house was a similar long design to yours. The floorboards ran lengthways which means that they were like the second pic above - I didn't think anything of it at the time. It didn't look funny.

We have it in the main bath but not the ensuite as I figured the duct in the bedroom should be enough. We also have a heat lamp - IXLTastic thing in each and to be honest, even in Winter, with the heat light and the heater on it can be really hot in the main bathroom. If I had my time again I might ...

I'm not a huge fan of render either. I like tiles as a feature, especially ones with texture, or that stacked stone stuff. Sorry I can't be of more help. Good luck :)

My thinking is that I'd probably go a light grey brick (if there is one as an option), with white trim and possibly a darker grey render or darker grey stone feature etc. Or, a medium grey stone, white trims and a light white/grey stone feature.. A brick option might be Austral Urban One Silver... W...
