Thanks for your advice, I like the idea of putting the robes under the eaves for more space in the back two bedrooms, depending how much space that leaves around the back of the block (small block!), also if we moved the theatre door like Purplenetti has we could use the wall next to the theatre to ...

So we are looking at building the Odyssey with new Generation and are looking for some help with ideas to improve the floor plan. Ideas we have had so far: - increase size of wardrobes in three bedrooms (just a little). - make shelving in linen L shaped - square front bedroom - push garage wall up a...

Random question, are you front windows tinted? Our front bedrooms and going to be for our kids (when we have them) so I am looking at privacy (don't want people looking in when the blinds are up) and remembered your plan has the kids at the front too so you might have already come up with a solution...

Our house plan has the master bedroom at the rear and two of the other bedrooms at the front of the house. These are the rooms we are planning on using for our kids bedrooms. The rooms have blinds in them at the moment but being they will be for kids, some added privacy is something we are looking i...

My sister built with Home Group in Wellard and we built with New Gen in Hammond Heights, her build started a few weeks before ours and we had handover about 4 months before her (taking into account it was over Christmas so maybe 3 months without that delay). Where about's in Hammond Heights are you?...

Thanks for the advice everyone. Somewhere to dump keys would be handy, but we also a 'nook' at the end of the hall so we could maybe put a cabinet/table in there for that, then leave the wall for some artwork so it doesn't become too cluttered. Will have a play around once we get a cabinet. Michelle...

So we moved into our house a few months ago and I am finding our front entry hallway to be very empty. It is pretty long I am just not sure how best to use this space. This is it now: http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh123/flicface/20140907_175646.jpg http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh123/flicf...

When we built recently we had the builder put in a double door frame for our theatre room so we could add the doors later down the track. We are not at that point. The doors we have picked are 5 lite french doors that will be painted the same white as our door frame and the rest of the doors in the ...

When we recently built our house, we had the builder put in a double door frame for our theatre room so we could add doors later down the track. We are now at the point of looking for doors. The frame is the size of 2 x 720mm wide doors. My DH has said he wants 10 light doors. mostly because he like...

When we were looking at blocks, we found one that backed onto the freeway but the council required you to have a sound package on the house, basically added costs to sound proof the house and you needed ducted air con etc so windows didn't have to be opened. Different council but may have similar ru...

We have a theatre - but this is important for us because my husband is a bit of a gamer and plays his xbox and playstation instead of watching tv in evenings. This leaves the family room/lounge room for me to watch tv or movies. We also use the theatre to watch movies together or tv shows (not usual...

We were thinking of the roll up door for appliances and having it enclosure rather than bothering with bench space. Just thought I would see what people thought. We actually find we have enough bench space as it is, it is more for storing appliances that don't go away.

Overheads next to the rangehood are next on the list after the fridge wall. We don't have a lot to put in them all now but I can imagine given a few years they will all be needed! My sister has even less kitchen storage than me, she will have problems in the future as there is nowhere in hers to add...

So the reticulation was put in last week and the hubby is putting down some top soil this weekend so the lawn can go down the weekend after that. For our backyard we are doing runners since my dad has grown some for us and the front yard will be roll on. Then it will be lots of planting for me :) no...

The shutters are more for show (timber ones on the inside of the window). We might actually end up getting the security roller shutters on the front down the track, once the two front bedrooms have kids in them (we don't have kids yet but that is what those rooms are already planned for). Prefer to ...

Was going to say what shutters haha, I do really like the ones on our neighbours house though, might be on our to do list down the track. For now our front rooms are just spare empty rooms so no point spending money on fancy shutters! Will keep an eye on our place now movement is happening :)

Yay for progress!! It can really kill the excitement when nothing happens for extended periods of time, especially if you are visiting daily and seeing nothing. We tried to only visit on weekends to give the builders more time to get something done. Looking really good and even better that the brick...
