Sorry only just saw this. We were charged for equipment time. For total rock we had over 650 tonnes removed. The excavations took at least a month to complete. They didn't need to send me any photos because we visited the site nearly daily and could see the rock. You can see the rock quite well now....

[quote="morphjk"]We built in an allowance of $10,000 for rock and we ended up blowing out by another $30,000. We knew that they would likely buy rock because of the area but didn't expect that much. Trust me we saw it and it took a solid month to break the rock up. Soil tests only go down...

Wow morphjk that's a big cut too! The rock wall does look good. Yeah it was massive. This was our second build and never expected this. We are 80m away from our first build. Certainly didn't need to retain it thanks to the rock wall

Yeah I have asked them though they don't have any timber oak looking vanities, there's not much to choose from. I asked to supply my own and they gave me a big spill as to why they most definitely can't. So I am trying to work out another way. Thanks! Well that sucks of they are being like that. It...

Hi, I am building a new house and I am not happy with the vanity. After handover how hard would it be to replace a vanity? I have no idea and I am hoping it not too hard/costly. Thanks! It's been a bit disheartening this week, after all the progress over the weekend it seems nothing much has happened. The tiler has been back today and finished tiling the butlers pantry, which is cool. http://forum.homeone.com.au/u/13830_1481803721.JPG They've also siliconed a lot of the tile edges...

Thanks Morphjk, that makes sense to me; the only reason I wasn't 100% is that originally we were never asked what colour we wanted the meterbox and I had to chase them up to tell them I wanted it in Monument so I wasn't sure if it was something they normally did or not. Our builders didn't ask us b...

The pendants are big but I don't think they look out of proportion.

Haha I checked the electricity box last night. Hopefully someone will leave something unlocked. I went up one day and the garage door was wide open so sucked home and got my wife and we did a walk through. We have been able to get in quite a bit. We move in Saturday week so not much to see now

My brother reckons it only normally takes a few days to get the sheets up. Obviously there is more time involved in setting it etc It took about a day and a half for sheeting or place which is 22 square. That didn't include the finishing

What are the dimensions of the room? A smaller wall hung basin without storage or a semi-recessed basin would give you a bit more clearance but I'm guessing you don't want to give up cupboard space. I like your wife's layout but I think 700 is a smidge tight. Our current ensuite is the similar to t...

We are about to commence building and my wife wants to move our toilet and vanity around. The builders seem to like it where it is. They have indicated that if they move it the way she would like it will leave only 700mm between the vanity and shower which they think is a bit tight. My wife points o...

Thanks morphjk I think I'm stressing more because I feel guilty for not making the bedrooms bigger ! I really can't wait until it is all plastered :) thanks for the reassurance. I know when we built and it was framed up we felt it was small but you will notice it once it has been plastered.
