You need to dig it down further than that otherwise your grass will find it hard to send roots down far enough so it can become drought resistant.You will also end up with other problems by not prepping the soil enough. I'd be breaking up the clay for a few inches too ( even deeper is better ) and ...

Hi guys just finished building a new house and started on landscaping and have a rotary hoe coming on the weekend so I can dig up the ground. My question is how much topsoil will I need I have very hard clay as a surface and wanted to know if 100ml or even 50ml would do? Thanks

I have my walkthrough on Tuesday then bank inspection on the Wednesday :). If all goes well I might get the keys next week How'd you go? did you do the walk through? went well I should be getting the keys on Monday morning :) Only need the driveway to be done and they need to install the appliances...

Thanks again Notre-Dame and thanks that's a great idea PixiGT. I might try that! Pre- approval doesn't really mean too much its the formal approval that you need. I went through cba and settled about 2 weeks late due stuff ups from commbank and stockland I had to pay like 50 bucks a day in late pay...

Spoke to a developer who is doing this area. He said they are hoping to have the first release towards the end of the year. In saying that wisdom homes and other home builders already have house and land packages in this estate. Like always the builders always get the first dibs.

Hi guys :) Is there a way to find out the house number allocated to a lot? (Camden Council or Land and Property Information office)?? We are in early stages of buying house and land package so don't have access to this info at the moment and land is not yet registered so not sure if this is availab...
Not really if the land is not registered their is no house numbers allocated.

Thanks a lot for your replies guys.... where can I get the soil test I am located in the south west of sydney. Also my plans was to rotary hoe the garden to dig up the clay and then to mix some compost with the initial clay to improve the soil. Would this be a good idea?

Depending on how big the area is, my was a 12m x 2m wide area, I tried the pick axe and it was not as effective the posthole digger. The rotary hoe will be good for a larger area. I used gypsum and organic soil to condition the clay soil. I have 12 x2 meters and 1 meter on both sides of the house t...
