The frame guys have been working at a cracking pace and the first floor frame has gone up. The granny flat frame has also gone in and is looking great. Trend Windows were also delivered and installed last week. We’re really happy with the Monument colour and the large size of the windows. Funnily en...

The frames arrived on Wednesday in not so little stacks on the front yard. Treated frames, blue steel beams, roof trusses and bracing are all ready to be put together. https://buildingwithwisdom.files.wordpress.com/2014/07/frames-delivered1-e1405120895657.jpg?w=300 https://buildingwithwisdom.files.w...

We're doing our door intercom post handover but pre-wiring it. $1,400 is steep for a basic intercom. Panasonic make some nice wireless ones with portable monitors for much less.

The moment we've been waiting on for so long happened this week! The concreters came and poured the slab for both the main house and granny flat! http://buildingwithwisdom.files.wordpress.com/2014/06/slab41-e1403793437902.jpg?w=300 http://buildingwithwisdom.files.wordpress.com/2014/06/slab31-e140379...

Congrats kidsbuggingme! The slab looks great! Not very happy with Wisdom Landscapes. When we got our original quote we were quite concerned by the large number of items that were quoted as allowances. However, they assured us that these were generally estimated on the high side and that they should ...

You finally did it kidsbuggingme! Blog looks great. We were wanting to get merbau posts for the front but were quoted something ridiculous. What did you end up paying for them? The race is on! Although from DSCDMC's comment it sounds like it can be a bumpy ride. DSCDMC - What reasons are given for t...

Good luck trying to get the contract changed. We found it's pretty much a take it or leave it proposition. Your mileage may vary. Wisdom have added many of their own clauses to protect their interests and will not budge on them.

Hi all, we took a visit to the site today and piering, formwork for the slab had been done. There was activity as the plumbers were on site installing drainage pipes! Slab should be going down next week, weather permitting. It's starting to take shape! http://buildingwithwisdom.files.wordpress.com/2...

I think most people will say most pre-build issues will be around the many admin errors and long turnaround times on changes through Estimating. I can't speak for the build stage as we're just starting but check out the blog for progress updates. According to others, the build seems to be quick and ...

This thread is a great idea! There's quite a few people building with Wisdom at the moment and would be great to share ideas. We're building a Wisdom Majestic 35 with custom facade (a cross between the Sovereign and Contemporary).

After ages in admin we've finally got some movement on the site!! We have the the loo, fence, silt control installed. That's great to hear you're happy with the final product because I know you had a few dramas during the build. We've learnt a lot from the experiences you've been kind enough to share. Hope your new build goes well!

We got a quote for SoundScreen from Wisdom as well. Cost for R3.1 Soundscreen between First Floor and Ground was $4,455.00. Adding R2.5 Soundscreen to all external walls was $5,120. Matt1 - how big is your house out of interest? Just wondering why our pricing came back higher.
