Does anyone know/recommend any engineers that deal with shipping containers in the Brissy/Jimboomba area. We are trying to put 2 down on my block with a podroof for storage before moving into the next part of our build. We have rung the local council and they just gave us a pdf guidelines for approv...

Do they want asphalt or bitumen, if its the later then I don't see why the spray wouldn't be antiquate, how ever you may not like it (its just a gravel type layer sprayed with bitumen to make it stick in an area. Asphalt is what you see on the roads (heated rolled bitumen mix) $2300 is similar prici...

There's a lot of variables on what you would get quoted but if you just want a very rough guess. I would say you would be looking at somewhere in the $8k-$12k for power that's estimated based off - 5x fans 10-15x lights 20-25 Socket Outlets 2x smoke 2x exhaust fans and 1x IXL with a swtichboard cons...

Thank you gentlemen. I had contacted several certifiers, one replied and it turns out that group is the one that won't work with OBs. My wife contacted three of her own accord, and of course, all three will! So that's that. I appreciate you taking the time. James. Interesting . Is that actually leg...

Logan dont do their own certification at all, its all private cert. I'm doing my full house + shed on my owner builder permit, certifier was more than happy to accommodate our plans. Like James said, how many have you contacted. Also note that some will only do Owner builder if you are managing and ...

Haven't seen a trencher like that one before... looks more like a post hole digger than a trencher... I'm used to look at the chain ones on the 'widow makers' (dingos). Yeh this one is an aussie designed on from nsw bloke, still haven't had a chance yet to give it a run esp being back at work now. ...

have you looked into just building a shed of the same size, u can have a shed lined but since its a class 10a building it doesn't require the energy report, just glass sliding doors on the south side instead of roller doors and you should be set?

Been a while since I've posted anything, unfortunately due to work commitments I haven't been able to get much if anything done. The positive side is that those same work commitments paid for a new toy to play with to help in further progress over the comng weeks. http://daveshotit.com/HomeOne/Site/...

So we had an unexpected call from the Rural Fireries last night to say they were available to burn off a couple of the piles of trees that we asked them about back in October. Turned into a very long night waiting for the flames to die down enough to go home http://daveshotit.com/HomeOne/Site/13%20B...

We've completed this stage in our owner building project. Our house is larger and is rammed earth but general pricing will most likely be similar. As a basic breakdown http://daveshotit.com/HomeOne/Costings/Approvals.jpg I hope that helps, not all costs would be required for all approvals. Example: ...

So had a mate come and help by digging out around the shed for a retaining wall. However he came unstuck when it was time to drill the holes, got down about 100-200mm and hit rock. Can anyone recommend a earthworks company for drilling rock, I have about 14 holes to drill and I'm assuming they will ...
