Please forgive me if this is not the right forum to ask this kind of question - I'm up against a deadline and searching for answers! I am selling a two storey terrace house in Lightsview in South Australia. The house build was completed on February 22, 2013 (eight years ago to the day, coincidentall...

Hi all, I currently have a house under construction and have recently contacted our neighbour about the fence that needs replacing. For context, we bought the last empty block in a failed subdivision where four dwellings were to be constructed in a row, between the end of the street and an existing ...

Hi guys, Apologies for the double post, I have just posted this in the general discussion board but realised it might be better for this one as the decision may impact the value of our home. Hi guys, We are in the process of finding a design/builder for our new home and are trying to decide how many bedrooms we actually need. We'll be building a long, narrow two storey house and were originally thinking we would have 4 bed + 1 living (retreat) + 1 study nook upstairs, and an open plan l...

Thanks for your responses, everyone! The builder's rep said that the extra cost was for additional siteworks and higher ceilings (though in the description the ceiling heights are given as standard so I'm not sure I believe him). But we really like the location and we're thinking seriously about put...

Hi there, long time no see, HomeOne! My husband and I are looking for our second home and somehow we are considering building again... We have found a block that we like the look of that is advertised with a number of builders as a house and land package - our preferred option being $702k for H&...

Hi cec1974! I see there haven't been many updates to your thread - any photos coming up? Would love to see your colours as you said they were similar to ours. I assume you are all moved in!!

Hey Nick, sorry to see the responses weren't forthcoming in February! Looks like a great home you are building, nice and spacious. How far along are you now? How have Fairmont been treating you? Interesting choice having the home theatre without enclosed walls... or am I misreading that?

sorted out solar panel today, paid the deposit. 5KW REC panel + SMA inverter $7850 is it good price or not?? That sounds pretty good to me - I was getting quoted that much for 3kW when we were sorting our solar! It's all relative though, I think the FITs have changed again which does influence the ...

Glad to hear you've settled in well! Your pup looks so cosy there! What's his/her name? His name is Dorian... as in Dorian Grey(hound). He is very sweet but keeps our backyard looking terrible and has scratched up our floors already! Dogs and pristine homes do not go together but we love him anyway.

Intense is an understatement. Just got my valuation back too - $25K less than what we are paying (due to the way-overpriced LV land). So I have to add a nice chunk of $30K into the build (or pay $32K in Lenders Mortgage Insurance). Fun times. BUT I am very excited about starting the build, not long...
Oh what a shame! Yes, I have heard other instances of overvalued land At least you have a way around it, I guess...! Oh...
