Yak_Chat, Thanks for your suggestion regarding number of switches. I have not thought about that. I was planning to put one switch per area (kitchen, bedroom, rumpus, family, dining, living, etc) but I will think carefully about putting some extras switches in some areas such as the rumpus or family...

Then I will go with the 1 per 3 m2 in most areas. In some other areas the ratio will be higher (around 1 CFL per 2 m2) but this is due to their shape and in the case of bathrooms the extra lights that go on top of the vanities. Thanks again, Horan

Commodorenut, Thanks for your information. It is very helpful. Regarding the lights, I am planning to use cool white in the kitchen and the laundry. Other rooms will have warm white. In your lounge, which is 6x4, you use 6 lights, is it sufficient at night? The display home I saw had 12 in the rumpu...

Thanks for the replies... ;) Just to let you know that the old house was already demolished (as Michelle said). The "crash! bang! ka-boom!" was done by one recommended by the builder. Cheers, T. Horan

Hi, Can anyone recommend a demolition contractor in the Wollongong (NSW) area? I am planning to build a house and need to demolish an old cottage. I have checked the yellow pages but do not know the reputation of any of them. Thanks.
