Yep - foil knocks the signals around big time. One option is to install a reception repeater inside your home - (ie antenna outside that then repeats the signal inside) It's sometimes done in commercial buildings but you know what - I wouldn't be doing it in my home. Who wants to be fried all...

Hmmm??? I think you'll find that the steel wool is going to make them rust. You are basically rubbing iron filings into the aluminium and eventually you will get rust stains starting from the fine pieces embedded into the aluminium. Good luck with it.

Can you pop up a sketch of your design? You need to be careful that the air is not just going via a wind tunnel through the house and not actually drawing air through all rooms. ie nice cool passageway but hot rooms - not good. :( And also make sure the air entrance point is smaller than the exit - ...

From speaking to the experts a - the biggest thing I've learnt is to be very very gentle around them - do not disturb them or touch the timber as any tube disturbance and the smell of humans sends them running away from that area for months - so that makes trying to find them and exterminate them is...

They've been designed and sold here for a long time by an Aussie company. http://www.cardiffair.com.au I've seen one in action and on display at the home ideas centre in Brissy - There might be one at the same centre in NSW?

Lanolin is a byproduct of shearing sheep ( washing the wool actually) Hmm - ask the sheep that question and you might get a different answer ;) re the stainless - 316 is the best to use - especially within a few km's of salt water. and don't clean it with anything that has "iron" in it.

Haven't done it - but I'd think that trying to do it on the roll would be a tough call - so I'd roll it out, place down a strip of wood underneath and using a stanley knife would be my approach too. Plus gloves, mask and overalls ;) Cold shower afterwards too. Hot water opens the poores - cold water...

Hi there It depends on the council that you reside. Some councils don't allow the use of septic installations, so check with your council first. One option was missed which is a membrane system, which that expensive compared to other systems Regards Shane Along with Composting Toilets of course ;)

batts and poly sounds like a reasonable plan. What climate zone / area are you in? Other options of greater than r4 for that thickness are available, but are also way more expensive.

Depending on the design and actual solar gain, I'd prepare it for what you think "maybe is needed" live in it for a year , and do what's required if you have to next year - ie plan for heating but don'd do it this year. My thoughts.
