I'm sure i paid less than $2000 for two tiers of raised floor, and a complicated bulkhead in my theater Pasey, I'm currently building in Melbourne's northern suburbs -- did your builder do this for you, or did you add it later? If the latter, could you PM me the details of who did this for you? Tha...

What size is your unit? We have a quote for 18kw unit but the installer says that 14kw will be used in out open plan family, kitchen, rumpus area. It it does have cathedral ceilings up to 4.5m. our living room has its flat ceiling of 4.5 m, then the dining is cathedral topping at 4.5m as well. Both...

We were told that getting parts for Actron was far quicker than for Daikin - days as opposed to a few weeks. Does anyone know if this is true? Is there generally a longer wait time for ordered parts for Daikin? Actron is locally made and supported (QLD). I have the Livezi which is the same system e...

I have a Schweigen and its very good. problem is we leave it on too often not realising. we have a large open plan living-kitchen-dining and we're very happy with the results. We went for a single motor version. Cost us around $1700 direct from the importer in Clayton.

As posted here I'm building a new HT. https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=8730 See the link for pics. It has been painted now and it is as dark as I had hoped. A true batcave   I'm still having trouble finding a carpet to suit the room. Obviously it needs to be DARK, black based. ...

You're saying 1080P should not be a criteria for considering your purchase - to that I completely disagree. Enough said. I've got just a bit more to add. My point was that the spec itself is not a consideration, that the performance, and image quality was the consideration. No you shouldn't sacrifi...

Mrs B, are they solid timber Blackbutt boards? If so, which flooring co. did you use? I'm currently finalising our timber floors.

So basically you're agreeing with what I say - that it comes down to image quality of one vs another. I always say, don't buy the specs, buy the image. Also - just a correction, i think you'll find most non full-HD 50" panels are 1366x768.

Agree with Pasey's comments regarding the cables, and about picture quality, but, the picture quality arguement does not really apply to what's being asked here (not really). If the question is (let's use one brand in this example - Samsung) do I get the Samsung 1080P plasma or do I get the Samsung...
not sure I agree Rod. If it is not about picture quality, why even consider 1080p as a criteria for purchase? If lookin...

I wired my house similarly. whilst i did the theatre myself, the other rooms my builder's electrician did. So, I would suggest that a regular sparky is going to be capable of everything there. The only thing would be the HDMI and speaker cabling. If it were my house, and I wasn't allowed to do it my...

resolution is a poor measure of how good a tv is or whether it is future proof. Many non 'full' HD panels have a far, far better image than the equivalent sized full HD panels. So, my advice is, don't buy based on whether its 'full' HD or not. buy based on what looks best with the money you want to ...

MJAB, I looked very closely at the advantage air system but ended up settling on a Livezi system. The main reason being that the advantage air system is older technology in terms of the actual air con units. This means that even if you only have a single zone running, the heating/cooling unit is sti...

I went for an ilve 90cm upright. Mainly because it was the only 90 upright that we could find with two wok burners. its only available at clive peters think. I ended up getting for around $4200 but I think it has a ticket price around $5500

One other thing. If you've ordered Pioneer plasmas make sure they include the 5 year warranty. Pioneer are going back to a 1 year warranty at the moment so try and make sure that your receipt or other documentation confirms the 5 year warranty.

yeah - all the gear is pretty much what I already have. I may decide to go inwall for the rears though. We'll see. Throw distance has been measured. Its a fixed throw distance projector so it had to be perfect! i haven't been able to use my projector for more than 18 months which is just criminal. S...

I would get all three. Wireless audio is mostly garbage. item one, (RGB component, composite, Cat5) are more optional than anything else that is listed there. Although I'm not sure I'd get rid of component. Composite is probably never going to be used and I'm not sure you'll need a network point (Ca...
