this is nothing stop worrying. You are allowed to cover weep holes by 50%. Water should never have to drain from it. Only problem is that if the concrete slopes into the weep holes No, it does not slope towards weep holes, slopes away from it, othewsise would be a complete disaster. Although not as...

Keep having troubles with my concreter. :( I did make a mistake myself when I told him that I want concreting to be done up to weep holes. Which was a bad idea since somehow I missed it while reading a lot of topics on this forum that most of the time people choose it to be 7-10 cm below weep holes....

from what i can tell in victoria I have not ever seen one concreter use chairs for driveways. Concretors who work on there own house dont even use chairs. What this forum has taught me is that in places like WA the qaulity of concreting is much higher. People laugh at you here when you mention chai...
Oh! They dont use it here in Victoria? Well, at least some explanation. And yes, I can confirm - I was laughed at.

Guys, from your recent experience, can you say that most of professionaly done concreting jobs for driveways around Melbourne are done with chairs for reinforcement mesh? Because if it is then I was blatantly * to. On a big job I am paying 100AUD per sq.m. so I dont think I am doing it el cheapo sty...

Hi guys, Looking at doing a bit of concreting around my house including driveway, area around the garage, front porch and front path. Overall close to 100m2. What should I be looking at in terms of price if: 1) the job is done either in exp agg or stenciled 2) the job is done by some good expirience...

... the first one I visited I just touched the surface and there were LOTS of loose stones. Is this a common prob with exp agg? That is bizarre. I've never heard of stones 'unsetting' from the aggregrate. Certainly not on our job or anyone else we know with it (different contractors). :th: Are the ...

JC - I'mnot sure what angle you have but you have picked the wrong person to crap on to. Stone loss - you sure you're not talking about a gravel driveway? Exposed aggregate doesn't shed stones. Just wondering if you are going to post on anything else on the forum or just bag exposed aggregate? Wow,...
Wow, thats rude. Dont uderstand though what this general discussion about concreting has got to do with you personally....

So exposed aggregate...I've got a question. How easily those stones from the surface get loose and then get everywhere, in your car tyres, inside the house? With the bigger stones that probably wont be an issue but I did not like any exp agg driveway with bigger surface stones thats for sure. They l...

Looking in my area it seems every second driveway is of grey color. Is grey simply such a popular color? Or are there any practical reasons for the prerefence? I dont like grey personally.

I try not to talk in the negative so will not bag what I don't do. Hey onc, why not? If you know some negatives about stenciled I would really like to hear it BEFORE I get it :) As long as the information is true and correct there is no reason to hide it, right?

It seems exposed aggregate is very popular here. I need a driveway for my new house and was going to get exposed aggregate until I asked couple of concreters to give me a few addresses to look at their exp agg completed jobs. In all cases I did not like how it looks after several years of use. Some ...
