My niece lowered & then extended on the ground level side of her home. It worked really well for them, the extension is all done on a slab & is designed for energy efficiency etc. Can't really help you much with the lowering question though, I can only tell you that they are very very happy...
Thx MrsDB. Do you know what the approximate costs were associated with lowering the house??

Timbo83, you probably live next door to me, I'm on the Lutwyche border of Wooloowin (some maps, such as telstras, even say I am in wooloowin). Got quotes for the basic house raise now.
