Blacky I'd be a bit worried about climbing up a ladder to get to the wine. After a few drinks could be a bit dangerous. I have always loved those things though (the ladder that is, wine too), maybe a largish bookcase with lots of books would look good.

I would also do a bit of a safety check first. Is the wall load bearing? May require an engineer How old is the apartment? Is there a possibility that there may be asbestos?
