Hey Mclaren, funny you say that. The red one was for a guy that is a real bachelor and owns a big bachelor pad. We also lit up the handleless grooved channels with LED lighting (see link below). Not my cup of tea, but let's just say it does light up at night. Not sure about his selection of wall ti...

Blacky I'd be a bit worried about climbing up a ladder to get to the wine. After a few drinks could be a bit dangerous. I have always loved those things though (the ladder that is, wine too), maybe a largish bookcase with lots of books would look good.

I would also do a bit of a safety check first. Is the wall load bearing? May require an engineer How old is the apartment? Is there a possibility that there may be asbestos?

Hi Marg I'm doing something very similar in Stafford Heights. Post war 3 bedroom. We are not raising, but extending and removing internal walls. The first thing I would do is take a walk around the suburb and look at what everyone else is doing. This will give you an idea of what the market expects ...

For corner cupboards, if the other side does not face a wall you can have a drawer around the other side. Borrowing from Bbb's post . this pic http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/1088/img3386s.jpg on the other side near the sliding glass door there would be drawers facing back into the kitchen. edit:...

The best thing about drawers is you can pull them all the way out and see everything in there. I'm sure I have crap at the back of some of our cupboards that I put there when we moved in and has not been touched since. I have probably even bought replacements for them. The thing I hate the worst is ...

Pot drawers are the best thing ever. Kitchen cupboards are evil little things with old tupperware hiding in the back corners you cannot see. I would suggest trying to get as many drawers over cupboards as possible. We have even converted cupboards to drawers. 1 for plates and stuff, 1 for evil tuppe...

Hi Ikon I like what you have done, give it plenty of space, something to give serious consideration too. Thanks for taking the time to mock it up, very much appreciated. Hopefully I can return the favor for everyone's input down the track. Whattodo, the existing space under the house has a concreted...

Hi somewoman Thanks for your comments. Originally I had the bed flipped and right up against the rear wall, but the other half wanted the bed at the other end to see the view. I do see what you mead to move the WIR up that end of the room as well and I could put a normal internal door on the en suit...

Thanks Helyn Lovely wife has made some comments for me as well. 1. I can remove the bath from from the en suite. 2. She wants a study area some where - a nook or something. 3. We can move the entry door if that makes creating room easier. 4. Wants a double shower in the en suite. The existing living...

Hi everyone We are about to take possession of a 1950's postwar on the north side of Brisbane with a beautiful view of the city from the rear of the house. It is on a hill sloping from front to back with a laundry on the ground floor underneath the back right bedroom. Initial plan is to keep the lau...
