Used the Selleys Rapid Mould Killer (worked a treat!), scraped out the old silicone around the bathtop (bath in shower) and washed tiles then applied Selleys Grout Stain Whitener and redid the silicone (Selleys Wet Area Silicone) and the bathroom looks like new! I know I'm sounding like a Selleys sa...

I have tried Shannon Lush's oil of cloves spray in the bathroom. It doesn't seem to work (but it does work a treat on the canopy of my boat). Bleach doesn't work either. I am looking at digging out the grout and starting again but before this I might have a try at either Selleys Grout Stain Whitener...

I have a timber house on beachfront with gal. steel posts (1m high) and bearers. The prevailing salty trade winds are taking their toll on anything metal and I have been crawling under the house to try and maintain the posts and bearers which in parts are showing signs of advanced rusting. Here is w...

Fu, Jimbod's problems sound a lot similar to mine - living north of Townsville. I went couch as it is dog friendly and a good couch lawn is a wonderful thing to look at. Buffalo is the most common breed up this way but dog's and kids got skin rashes from the version we had in Sydney. Your post above...

I have used DSMA Clear in the past to try and keep broadleaf weeds (and buffalo runners from next door) under control in my couch lawn (live in Nth Qld). I will try and buy some more as it does work but I've heard it is restricted these days. Does anyone know if DSMA Clear can be purchased over the ...

I have ordered a 3kW solar system after much investigation. Had a look at a host of ROI calculators (this is purely an economic decision - I have a 4WD and a 2 stroke boat!). I wanted to see if I could get a better return on investing the principle into a term deposit (can get 6%) rather than solar ...

For the 2nd time in a couple of years our cooktop glass has been badly cracked and needs the replacement. The first time it went back to the repair store for a week and I think the new glass cost about 50% of the replacement price of the entire unit. I see sites (UK?) that give instructions on chang...

316 also rusts over time but it'd have to be in a very harsh environment to show much age in the first few years.

Anywhere it rains with the possibility of clouds or wind coming from an ocean will kill 304 grade s/s rather fast - as you have noticed. If you lived in Mudgee it would last longer. 316 is used on boats for a very good reason and the cost goes up accordingly. You need 316 or change to galvanised. La...

Cyclone headed our way and have a couple of days to work out how to stop 3 roller doors on the shed from blowing out or in. A couple of Dynabolts into concrete through the bottom lip of each door might work but this leaves them sticking out of the concrete when the door is up. Anyone got any suggest...
