Thanks for your replies Zeke and Southies. Yes, our carpet is the same as Southies. It looks great along the wall but on the other side we have architrave that follows the steps so the architrave falls short where the carpet is sticking out at the "nose" therefore exposing a small opening....

We just had our carpet installed which looks great, layer spent 10hrs however I'm not sure if the stairs are done correctly.
