Many thanks for the reponses. Comments about oiling are noted. Yes - there is some rot in some of the facia ends which I will be replacing/ reinforcing. What is the pink undercoat that is evident on some of the existing facia? It reminds me of calamie lotion that my mother use to apply to mozzie bit...

I intend to repaint the external facia boards (30 years old) to my home. In some areas the existing paint has peeled and the woodwork will require some sanding. :?: After sanding, I was thinking of using linseed oil to prime the wood. Is this the best way to go??? Suggestions/comments would be helpf...

I intend to have some hardwired garden lighting installed. As a general rule of thumb, how many lights (of a brick type) would I need to install in a brick retaining wall of approx. 17.2m length. The lighting will be used for path/walk area

Thanks. It turned out that the mirror was not glued in its entireity - it was held onto the wall by adhesive strips. The cuttting wire was successfull.

I intend to replace the 30 year old mirror in my ensuite. It seems to me that the existing frameless mirror is glued to the wall (probably of fibro-cement sheeting). I repainted the ceiling about a year ago. Now large spots of the paint work are blistering/cracking/peeling away from plater board ceiling - bring with it the original plater board coating.
