You would probably start regretting it after you started. I have heard the story a few times. . Thats a lot of shovelling and very time consuming. I would order a minimix. The cost wouldnt be that different to buying all the materials and mixing it all up yourself. Also you would have more time to s...

You will always see the cracks after it rains due to them holding water. Even if its sealed. Also I have never seen a concrete crossover sealed. That would not be to council specifications? Was the concrete really wet when they poured it? Also if it was windy that would of been a big factor. Too muc...

Best thing to do is call Hytec and ask if they can give you an address in your area where it has been poured.. also ask them how long ago it was poured as for the first month the concrete is not properly cured so will appear darker in colour. They should help you out.

$6-10k most likely. It all depends on the excavations needed and if the wall is to be included and size of it etc, You would need to get someone to come out and look at it as theres too many variables.

I would never leave a customer with that for a finished job, however as far as your rights go, I think they are allowed to walk away from it as its non structural. If they happen straight after the pour I just cut some panels out and do it again. They probably poured sloppy concrete on a windy day a...

just watch out for the legs the crane rests its weight on.. they can crack your driveway. Im a concreter, I just repaired a broken driveway from this last week. driveways are weaker if you put the weight close to the edge,,

G'day Hope I've posted this on the right place [emoji16] I have been building a path/steps using sleepers, and I've placed small gravel for the surface. I would like to keep them part of the path rather than on the lawn. What do you all suggest I could use? I have done a little research myself on w...
The resin they use for permeable paving. Shop around for a better price. I think basf are one of the manufacturer's.

Also a concrete warehouse type place. The sealer will likely be less than half the price of burnings. Allcon Concreters warehouse Parchem Midway building supplies. To name a few.

It would probably look nicer for longer. Less likely to stain etc. I would say if you DIY it then go ahead. Its probably not worth paying someone to seal plain concrete. Other types of concrete it's a nice way to enhance the colour and give it the wet look. Just make sure there is no dust/dirt/moist...

Really the most you should of paid would of been the cost of the concrete. $7k.. There was no value in the labour. A reputable company would of ripped it up and relaid it without argument.

Looks like it was poured on a windy day. Possibly hot too. Those types of cracks are from the surface drying too quickly. Looks like they lost control of the job a bit and didn't get the retardant on quick enough. Hence the patchiness. It probably looks good by the house as this was sheltered from t...

Using an acid or chemical will not damage the tiles. But it will damage the concrete. And you might end up with a lot of effort and a mediocre result. It would probably be easier to put new tiles on the porch.

Its a bit hard to advise as I cant actually see the job but im sure you can get a concreter to come in and quote to do both the retaining and pour the slab. Try emailing a photo of your job to a few local concreters and uif they are up for the job get them to come and price it up.

you never know... I have a feeling it will be too white and stand out from 10 times further away than the hairline crack... or be something that crumbles away when it rains... post back your results!

Eek. Please do not get plain grey concrete and colour seal. Its the cowboy (cheap builders) way of doing it. The driveway will look tired in about 4 years. Or sometimes hideous in 2 if the sealing wasnt done properly. You often see black sealer thats peeling with areas of white/grey concrete showing...

It sounds like you need to build retaining walls around your slab. They do not have to be made of timber. Once this is done crushed rock compacted every 100mm of depth added as mentioned above.

Filling the crack will make it much more noticeable than leaving it. Its a really bad idea. (unless you find a specialist that has had success in the past then take his word for it) The concreter can simply cut out the cracked panel up to the saw cuts and repour that. But it takes skill to match the...

Hi Concrete Firm Do you know if the cost varies if you want to have two different colours. For example, driveway and front paths one and back patio and rear paths another? Thanks It just means they may have to get an extra delivery instead of having it all in one truck. This might cost $100-$200 ex...

$110 is pretty standard for a good job. But the rate per sqm starts to climb on smaller jobs. As it happens Im actually sat infront of my computer right now recalculating my cost per sqm today after working out it costs me $57 (i was shocked) in materials and machinery ownership/maintenance costs to...

While I am a concreter I had never tried polishing concrete until last year when my friend built a house. He paid for the materials and grinder hire and I did the job for free just for the experience. I must say it was very easy and simple just very time consuming. We threw glass aggregate into the ...
