Hi guys, As careful as I am I still managed to get a bit of deck stain on my bricks (more noticeable on mortar). It's not a lot by any means but I'd like to go around and "touch up" to make it look as clean as possible. What can I safely use to do this? Cheers, Niko

Hi guys, Well the frustration has kicked in as for the 4th time in 18 months my Bonaire evap/heating system has mysteriously stopped working. Even more frustrating is this has happened on a Friday night where I cannot contact Climate Technologies until Monday (Ridiculous!) Anyway, I was tried turnin...

Hi guys, If I want to pour a new driveway and want it to be coloured (e.g. Gunmetal) I understand there are two options. 1. Pour regular (grey) concrete then apply a coloured sealer on top 2. Use a colour mix with the regular concrete and pour that. What are the pros and cons for each and which do y...

Just had a treated pine deck installed. When should I stain and seal it? I've heard 3 to 6 months? Is this true? Do I just leave it raw for this amount of time?

There is an easier way. Replace your hinges with "The Original Adjustable Door Hinges". They allow you to move your door up or down, side to side or in and out to stop sticking. Most sticking is due to settling and changing weather conditions. If the door sticks again, just adjust it. The...
That's brilliant. Where can I find these locally? Or equivalent.

Thanks bashworth. Is it common for the top and bottom to not be sealed?

Howdy. This summer and after a few humid days the door that connects the house with the garage has been sticking. But, not at the top or bottom but right in the middle where the locking mechanism is. When it cools down after awhile the door seems to fix itself. I've tried tightening the screws on th...

Our sliding windows have a key lock and the window slides across to about 2 inches open and then locks in position with key. ie enough to let in fresh air but not enough for arm to fit into space to break in. $14 extra per window. not sure if you can get them fitted on after window instalation but ...

Certainly makes sense Bam. The main reason why I need to do this is to run evap cooling during the night. Was after a more "secure" method. But I guess if it's steel or wood cut to size (for a snug fit) it would be just as effective.

Good thinking. The steel rod is certainly the easiest option but the patio lock is probably a better long term solution. I was told once there was a purpose made device for this sort of thing, but perhaps they were pulling my leg.

Hi guys! I have sliding windows in my main living area and whilst they have locks when FULLY closed I was wondering whether there was anything I could purchase to lock them half way? Ideally, locking them at a variable distance would be best. Thoughts?

We've moved in ages ago. We're at the 3 month review period. Not sure about the depth I'd have to check but it seems quite deep. But it's definitely more than normal hair line crack.

Hi guys, Hopefully this section is appropriate. But I have a question regarding my review period with my builder. Anyway, the short story is my driveway has a massive crack (about half a cm in width - not a hairline) from one side to the other horizontally. It's on the bottom half. The builder is cu...

I'll give that a try, thanks. Is using paint low maintenance? E.g. How often do I need to paint etc?
