Hi, my electric kettle just died (Kambrook). It was ok but very noisy. Can anyone recommend a good, quiet electric kettle? I looked at the Russell Hobbs whisper quiet kettle but it got bad reviews for being too noisy!! Thanks

Hi, thanks for that -it is beautiful and the style is what I am after, but I should have said that I want a dark green colour (emerald)!

I should add that we have hydronic heating, so this fireplace is not for heating but for the pure enjoyment of an open fire - the spectacle, the toasted marshmallows, the ambience... :D

We have an old house with an existing chimney that has had a working gas heater in it. We are renovating and have taken out the old heater and plan to have an open wood fire now. We had planned to stick a grate in it and just light a fire, but our builder said that he couldn't 'seal' the chimney pro...

Hi, our 100 year old Edwardian home has internal walls that are 'rough rendered' plaster.. ie they look almost like they have been bagged. We are renovating/extending - does anyone know what this finish is called and if it is typical of that era? Do we continue it through the rest of the house? Even...

When we bought our house 16 years ago, the real estate agent said it was built in 1909. We want to celebrate 100 years!!! but how do we actually confirm the date it was built?

We are renovating/extending our 100 year old house - and decided to go Dulux Antique White USA full strength/quarter strength on the walls/architraves. Everyone says to go neutral, but is this too boring? Our old scheme had chalk and dark greens, and everyone loved it...

Hi Ernie The kitchen itself only has a long very high up window, and then looks over the island bench towards glass doors at the end of that room. With regard to dark green, I have always loved the colour for everything from clothing to homewares to my emerald engagement ring!

It does look great! But I am more looking for just your regular microwave (heat food, milk, cook rice, etc) that just happens to have the door open in a more convenient way for my kitchen... (and perhaps for left handed people?)
