Can some advise me on a tiling job by my builder? First of all the tiles started to fall away from the wall after 3 months of moving in. we are in the final stages of building with Hickinbotham. In my opinion i would stay well clear from them, every thing was a right stuff up at every stage. The bank on refused payment many times due to poor workmanship and hickies refused to do anything about it. We are seek legal advice now.

be careful if they drag out you footing costings too long who dont have the option to go somewhere else. check your block and see if there a 3 bore holes roughly where your house will be. It can take up to 3 week to get your footing reports depends on how busy the engineer are.

I didn't think you could get your deposit back after the 3 days cooling of period. A quick tip i got caught on is i added A/C, flooring and a heap of other things to my original quote then took it off at colour selection. Well thats an easy one Chris its Ford the best car to buy. :wink: I agree with you about the same pool of contractors but i think the acceptable stanards of work should be put on to the supervisor, not just the minimum passing of the code. You wouldn't buy a new car with the doors are out of square ...

not sure if its that necessary. they can charge about $500 per inspection. I would like to know what they inspect after the footings are poured anyway the only thing i can come up with is the size and location on the block. Hi guys we built with Hickinbotham Homes. I'll try to be diplomatic as we are still building. Build Quality. Just started bricking. Footings were terrible 60mm under size in areas, pipes had to be dug out of footing after pouring because of wrong fall, wet areas poured in wrong place, retaining wall...

I stayed at a friends apartment in Scotland for a few month over xmas, they had hydronic heating which was also their domestic hot water. It warmed the house after sometime but when you had a shower the water would be hot then freezing cold. I hated that. Aslo you have these big ugly radiator in eve...
