Thanks for the explanation Mellybuilding - that makes sense :) Taylormade - yes, I was so glad we got in when we did! Ours must be one of the last Hamiltons being built by Adenbrook. I saw that they have a small range of customizable homes, so they might be able to be a bit flexible in what they can...

I am an Adenbrook display home junkie! Not so much now - but before / while we were building, I used to come up with excuses to 'go for a drive'... oh look - it is near an Adenbrook display! I think we went to all the Brisbane & outreach ones, and the Sunshine Coast ones. Don't think we made it...
Me too! After we'd chosen, my partner had display home withdrawals so we ended up still going 'round every weekend for ...

we were a cm away from building the Peninsula 35 with Adenbrook - after seeing the display down the coast (I loved the kitchen with 2 seperate sinks)... anyway we wanted the house to be very similiar to the display which brought our build to over 300K for a 35 sq home...so we took a peek at Plantat...
Oh yeah - we looked at Plantation too. We liked them but Adenbrook won out in the end just because we liked the finish ...

Louise4499 - I agree, I liked their old range and thought that the new range is missing some key features too. However, I hope it works well for them - all the Adenbrook people we've dealt with so far have been fantastic so I'd like to see them do well. Thanks for the good wishes with the building! ...

Well, actually I'm not sure if a lot more houses with smaller bases is the case, that might be inaccurate - but I don't have the old site to compare it with, it's just a perception...

I just stumbled across it today because I was looking for something to do with the house we're building soon (the Hamilton 35). It was very interesting - a lot more houses with smaller base areas to allow for the smaller blocks that are being sold here in Brisbane. The whole website has been changed...

Thanks a lot everyone - looks like it will be hypertufa :) Unless there are any other alternatives I ought to explore. I really like the idea of reconstituted sandstone but have no idea whether that is achievable by do-it-yourselfers. Plus, I imagine that could be a bit more costly than hypertufa in...

Hi there, I'd love some really huge pots in our garden as a focal point but the big ones are so expensive, so I have been toying with the idea of making my own. I'm thinking I might give hypertufa a go (a light cement mix), but was wondering whether plaster of paris would be a viable option as well?...

We are going to have an alfresco area fairly close (about 1.5 to 2 metres) to the fence, and our neighbour's house is a bit higher than ours so they will be able to look straight down into our house through their windows. What I'm planning is to plant some bamboo in long trough-shaped pots along the...
