http://organichomegarden.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/veggie-seedlings.JPG I have found many of my small veggie seedlings are getting eaten by slugs and snails once I plant them out so I would be interested to see how other gardeners would deal with this. Keep in mind I won't be using any pestici...

Is it just me or did the hot water system rebate get extended to June 2011 at least in NSW? For some reason I thought it was June 2009?! Seems only the roof insulation for NSW ends June 2009. I got a quote for a new solar hot water system and they said the rebates don't end in June and they have be...

You need to call a Geotechnical Engineer if you are concerned about these. These are the same people that do soil testing and will be able to help. ok thanks, I will look into that.

Ed thanks for the new idea, it is certainly something to consider but I have thought wall paper was a bit old school these days and painting i...

Myself and my neighbors property have quite large swells in the ground in our sections. I never really noticed them or took much notice when I viewed the property but now I'm a little worried what they are.One looks like it has lifted up one of the Pergola legs in the past as I found one laying on t...

I found out that the lounge & rooms don't have asbestos, just the laundry and kitchen. So thats good as it would have made it difficult to renovate these rooms. As for the laudry and kitchen, there is only painting to be done in these rooms so its ok. I'm still keen to work out how I can get a s...

Hi, I'm still hoping that someone can give me some feedback about how to smooth my walls and get rid of those ugly dividers as seen in the photos above? Should I use a plaster board and place that over my walls or is there another way I should go?

Can you try chipping a bit off in a hidden area and see if it is smooth underneath. I am wondering whether it is a textured paint or textured board. Hi, I did some research and I contacted the man who carried out the building inspection and he confirmed that the asbestos is only in the laundry but ...

For a cheap quick fix I think the bamboo screen would be a good option, sure it might not totally block the view but it will be better than what you currently have. I would then (as costs permit) plant some hedging plants in front of it to then provide a better block out Yes I that is what I'm thin...

Not too scare you and I have no idea - but could walls be lined in asbestos?? If so get a professional to check before you start interfering with it especially if any sanding/dust is going to be involved. I helped brother renovate house years ago with really rough plaster - spent a month skimming o...

Mix it in with the dirt when we get some more delivered; Dig holes and bury it, displacing the native soil which is clay-ish anyway. Clay soil will love some sand and it will help break it down, especially if you add some lime too.
