Evening! I'm looking at tiling the floor of an outdoor concrete veranda. It's undercover but gets all weather as it's west faced. I've been reading that if the concrete has cracks, they will eventually come through the tile. Is there a recommended membrane or something similar I can apply over the s...

New tiler here cos I'm broke. Anyway, I've been looking online for tile leveling systems. I've seen these a lot. (See pics) The only thing I can see wrong is the wrench becoming rounded or breaking.. Very interested in anyone's opinion who have used this system? https://forum.homeone.com.au/u/110803...

could be the footing or being hard up against the other wall with no expansion joint or both. You could try again with brick mesh and use some sticky back foam against the wall to leave 10mm expansion. The bricklaying itself looks spot on [emoji106] Did you mean brick mesh as in reinforcement? What...

A few years back I re- layed about 8 bricks in a fence. 12 months or even less, each mortar line I did cracked. The only thing I remember was using a Bunnings pre mixed sand and cement and maybe I added extra cement. It's the only thing I can think of? What ratio of sand and cement would you recomme...

Have some black tiles in our bathroom on one feature wall laid on top of the waterproofing. What I think is efflorescence or white chalky looking grout has turned the black grout into a dirty white colour. This was noticed the day the tiles were grouted the first time. I'm happy to take the grout ou...

I have some existing slate in the kitchen area and I'm wondering if tilers are willing to tile over the top? Is that generally a done thing?

Did a small re- lay of bricks on a boundary wall. Within no time, the bricks I re-layed cracked. Obviously much a rookie here. Very curious as to what would cause this?? The person repairing the wall is the first problem.. but the next one? https://forum.homeone.com.au/u/110803_1713229305.jpg
