Assume you have approx 45 week build time in the contract. A $600k volume home can be built in as little as 13 weeks with materials and contractor availability of course. Its up to McDonald Jones Homes to manage the build to the contract timeframe and so far its not delayed. If they are delayed at ...

Since the builder only does compliance certificate and l will do final OC, should I be worried? Thank you https://forum.ho...

Hi, I am building with Mcdonald Jones in Northwest Sydney and my lender is Westpac. We will do flooring, driveway, some of electrical fitting and a few other things ourselves after the handover with our cost (the loan is only for builder's scope). We have to get the OC ourselves too. Builder expects...

ask to see the calcs showing that only fans solve the problem. Achieving BASIX can be done several ways, and there are often cheaper solutions. fans are not the only way we were told that double glazing several windows will also work but it would cost $10000 more. For the fans, they don't cost much...

Have you thought about window film instead of double glazing the windows? Would be cheaper, if it is considered compl...

Hi, I am building a house with a builder (Northwest Sydney) and they came with a $21000 variation (mostly for thermal) which includes a lot of insulation and double glazing of windows to achieve BASIX requirements. I asked them to find another way and they said the only way to bring this about $110...
