The tap was a 'side' question not related to the flooding. Yes you have a charged rainwater harvesting system. Certainly no possibility of or consideration ever given to utilising that pipe for drainage. Re drainage, you have had an abnormal amount of rain lately. I would concentrate on laying some...
It seems to me that the hydraulics engineer stuffed the design on the left hand side and forgot to provide it. If there...

Here is the hydraulics showing lines running around the house. Think the pipe on the left is charged. Question is not the tap, we have water logging on the entire left hand side. https://forum.homeone.com.au/u/101514_1667610550.jpg

Howdy all, Here to ask a question about the drainage on the sides of the house. Builder has provided drainage on one side of the house. We took the pipes provided and converted them into drains. One the narrow side of the house, there is no drainage whatsoever. That is leading to water pooling. I sp...

Generally it was decent job. We are still settling in so opinions will firm as we go along. The general build quality and finishing is what you would expect. We did inspection at different stages of the house and there were no comments. One of the issues we are facing is drainage at the side of the ...

So the day is finally close. We are getting the handover for the house on September 9th. We had the practical completion walkthrough and some defects were picked up. Nothing out of the ordinary though. Excited about moving in and finally living here. https://forum.homeone.com.au/u/101514_1662417926....

So our house is in final finishing stages with carpets being put in and driveway being poured. We are expecting handover in the next 4 weeks. We are trying to schedule some electrical work in our house before handover so that the move in can be smooth. Downlights, ethernet ports, security cameras, s...

So more progress on the building site. We have the bricks and internals done. The tiling is done as well so we are the final stage now. We had a change of project manager but no impact on build progress. https://forum.homeone.com.au/u/101514_1654582118.jpg

Just a quick update. King homes have been trying to locate brickies but been having trouble doing it. Had a bunch of brickies come by and back away at the last moment. This along with the rain means our project is falling behind. So they are going to do a reverse build doing the internals first and ...

So the framing of the house is done. The next step would be the bricks and tiling. The house is taking shape and a life of its own. King homes have promised to deliver by April so lets see if they live up to their promise. So how is the experience with King so far? Too early to say TBH. Lots of fac...

So more progress it seems. The slab has been poured. Despite the rains and all, I hope it has been cured. Last week I saw the foam being out in as well. So the pictures are progression from putting foam in to completely covered and poured. https://forum.homeone.com.au/u/101514_1638077214.jpg https:/...

So after some wait and administrative work, we got our approval from private certifier. A site supervisor has been appointed as well for our project. No contact from him but I expect some feedback soon. A fence has gone up around our property and the slab is supposed to be poured soon. https://forum...

So a quick update in the house. The house has been pulled down and all asbestos removed from site. The construction is ready to start pending final plans. I have been promised that it should start soon so no more waiting I would think. https://forum.homeone.com.au/u/101514_1632200098.jpg https://for...

we had colours booked in , but days before our meeting NSW lockdown laws kicked in and we have not been able to do this. they are now proposing a virtual colours selection and will not consider any extension to their tender expiry date - which i think is an appalling way to treat your new customers...

@duplex we are looking building a double storey honestly.. i could not fault the initial sales process.. BUT that just gets you to sign their agreement.. they still have yet to build the house. We have not done colours or anything else yet. Since accepting the tender, we have already been affected ...
We are currently building with King homes. Link to build is in sig. How is your internal selection process coming along?

Another quick update. The lockdown has shifted our plans for demolition. Since construction has been halted, we are now looking at first week of August. In the meantime, we have arranged for the trees to be removed by council. They were quick to withdraw the money so hopefully the removal is just as...

I am building a 5BR house in Sydney for around that price. We did get lots of upgrades such as 2 master bedrooms, tricked out butler's pantry, big windows etc. One caveat is that we build single storey. Given that Brisbane should be more reasonable than Sydney, I think you could get something at $4...

So just a quick update. Our papers were put in on 11th June for council approval. Getting the colors and bricks sorted out was quite the journey. Ultimately, wifey and I settled on red bricks from PGH for our house. We are seeing lots of builds with dark colored bricks and wanted something different...
